I'm having to move as am now on half pay while I wait for a redundancy settlement, so it's a choice of moving to reduce rent or get into even more serious debt. At the same time, my Grandad needs a companion for a while (especially over the really bad part of winter as he's on his own) so it's pretty much kismet as we get on really well, and have lived together before.
What I do next, and where I go is really within my gift once I've been released from work - and that's why the first thing I'm doing while snowed in over the winter is to fulfill the dream of the online shop.

Evening 'verse :hello:
What with general stuff and craft shows, it feels like it's been a while since I posted properly. Nothing too positive to report on the MSE front as I've been spending quite a bit over the last few days... *saunters off, not making eye contact with anyone*
...on the bright side, I'm now well stocked for knitting over Christmas and the new year, no need for any more shopping before I leave, and I'm really and truly done for Christmas apart from an aperture for a frame...no, really...honestly - I mean it this time! *walks away whistling innocently*
Obviously I've been packing...who knew I had that many pictures - and I swear the books have been breeding. And I've been knitting (and, thanks to Moo's tuition, playing with the resizing tool on photobucket) - these are the two latest colours for the wraps.
One thing I hadn't twigged with the pattern is that the button hole is effectively three different holes allowing you to move the button forward and back as you prefer...how clever is that?!
So what else have I been up to? Well all sorts really - some down (monumental meltdown at the Occ Health appointment last week) and some up (believe it or not, the monumental meltdown at the Occ Health appointment last week...huge, huge turning point for me...just brilliant...).
I have a friend coming up from London tomorrow (weather willing!) which is going to be lovely. Wine chilling in the fridge, tree decorated in the corner of the living room, and mince pies waiting to be *ahem* decluttered...:rotfl:
I'm also planning to do a bit of 'random cupboard contents' work this weekend - will be mixing mascarpone cheese with either kirsh cherries or liquer plums (both Christmas prezzies last year - and almost too pretty in their jars to use...almost....:D) and popping it on a crumbled digestive base... no idea what it'll taste like, but let's be honest - mascarpone cheese...nom, nom, nom...
On more important issues, I hope you're all keeping safe and snuggly in the midst of all this extreme weather - especially those of you 'oop north' *sticks head out of window to see if that was Freeby flying by*
Be careful out there folks.

Hope everything is a bit better with that now.Knitting_Nora wrote: »I have a friend coming up from London tomorrow (weather willing!)
What do you mean - weather willing? It's not like it's snowing, and if they live anywhere near Westminister Palace they'll be used to fast-moving wind. Just keep your fridge shut in case they see the frost and have palpitations...;)"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Weather willing? I always said the natives in suvvern parts were ridiculously soft.....I'm getting funny looks for running home in my shorts and t shirt, must admit it's prehaps time to pop the reflective jacket on over the top as the wind chill is getting a touch out of hand.
Well done on the decluttering, it seems like I'm making absolutely no progress despite having taken two car loads of things to the new house. I packed all our DVD's in to two large boxes then realised that on my own I can't lift them so need to repack those this evening for tomorrow mornings trip. Then I can spend Sat afternoon dismantling the flatpack cd and dvd racks and shelves. I guess until it's all moved this place is going to keep looking like a bomb site. *sighs and reaches for another handful of product test crisps*It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Sweetie, the looks aren't about the shorts and t-shirt....they're about the running....:rotfl:0 -
Love the wraps - 'specially the blue one
Hope you're recovering from the meltdown and that it turns out to be a turning point to many fabulous things.

Nope its def the shorts and t-shirt- running is positively normal where I work, all those trainee soldier types, my version of running is like a short walk for them.
Albeit a slightly under dressed and far too late in the evening walk. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

The jacket will stop you putting people's eyes out with the cold...scubaangel wrote: »Well done on the decluttering, it seems like I'm making absolutely no progress despite having taken two car loads of things to the new house. Don't do that... Books are bad for that too. I once packed some books so well they had their own gravity...Knitting_Nora wrote: »Z - these are things really best kept to yourself you know!;)
