thanks Nora, i'm expecting our move to be in about 5-8 weeks time, guess it depends on how long the solicitors take.
we're gonna speak to some removals companies so i'm hoping we'll get lots of information and boxes to boot.
I didn't realise you were actually moving a fair distance away and leaving your job. Or have i got the last bit wrong?0 -
Yep - it's all change over the next few weeks.
I'm having to move as am now on half pay while I wait for a redundancy settlement, so it's a choice of moving to reduce rent or get into even more serious debt. At the same time, my Grandad needs a companion for a while (especially over the really bad part of winter as he's on his own) so it's pretty much kismet as we get on really well, and have lived together before.
What I do next, and where I go is really within my gift once I've been released from work - and that's why the first thing I'm doing while snowed in over the winter is to fulfill the dream of the online shop.0 -

I have to admit most of our moving boxes are ones I've scavenged from work - might be worth visiting the local supermarket to see if they've anywhere they keep boxes for customers to take - I know my local Mr T has a big pile next to the second exit they like customers to use instead of bags (and you get green points on them
) as well as the obvious places like Aldi and Lidl who generally have piles of boxes lying around the stores.
Obv they're not massive boxes but the bigger ones I can comfortably carry when they were full of stock so as long as I don't over fill them I should be able to shift them while they're full of possessions. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
