The beautiful wrap that you posted a picture off, is that one of the irems you would sell for £20? If you can make a profit on that, then that's an amazing price. Even MSE-ing and being dressed head-to toe in George at Asda, I would definitely pay £20 for that. If it's £40, (and it does look worth that), you might not reach so many people in these hard times.
If they are £20, please can I have one? Please?:j
And the name? What's wrong Knitting Nora's?:D
Wow - you use my diary to break into the weekend??
Yep, £20 for the wraps and £40ish for the big throws. I have this general approach which goes something along the lines of 'price to sell, and make a little, or price to make a lot and sell none...' seems to work in general.
Can't sell via the diary as it's against the rules *looks around for a yellow card heading her way* but I've posted details on the pattern etc earlier, so if you know someone who knits, perhaps they could make it for you if you bought the wool - which would be much more MSE! :money:
Either that, or stick with me into the new year and wait for the on-line shop.

 Good morning 'verse...
Have woken this morning with the general sense of freedom that comes once you've got past a big diary commitment. I'm here with my cuppa, chocolate, the sound of the heating having just clicked on (it's a tad chilly around the undercrackers this morning) and the sight of an attitude-enhanced little robin duffing up a jackdaw over the mealworms on the bird feeder....as Banwa would say: *contented sigh*
As suspected, the coffee afternoon gig was a damp squib - so damp that flood warnings may well have been offered.
However, I made enough to cover my petrol costs and dinner out that evening. I also tend to save a biggish float which means I have lots of pennies to bank and add as a little extra to paying off CC2 - which reminds me, I want to bring back the details on my signature.
And I managed to see lots of friends I've not seen in a while, most of my family, get a few move-related things sorted, and get back home and into my pjs before midnight...
You know what, I think the day was a resounding success.
Now, what does the day hold? So glad you asked....
Well, as I'm sat here it's clear that I really need to get some general housework done. For example, though the tree is up it's currently completely naked of any decorations as I've been too busy/tired to dress it! I have presents, decs and packing boxes all over the living room - it looks like there's been some form of explosion or war. *wonders whether she needs Mr Scubaangel's body armour*
Evidence mounted up when I wandered into the kitchen for a cuppa this morning and realised I was using the last clean mug, the bin and the recycling bin are full to bursting, and I can't find the kitchen table under all the carp on it!
On top of all this, I'm down to my last pair of jeans and need to iron a top before I can complete an outfit...
I think we can safely assume that my day is booked trying to get this place all sorted and squared away!!
My breakout excursion will be to the local wool shop as I need to make one last wrap...but again, that's covered by the pennies from the stall so will be cost-neutral. Does that make it an NSD I wonder?
Anyway, best get on....
Have a good'un!

Good Morning Missus Knitty,
I'm glad your day went well yesterday. I know you said it was a damp squib but you covered all your expenses and saw your friends so that can only be a bonus.
I'm glad your looking out at the birdies in your garden. All the birdies in mine have run/flapped/flew for cover now the snow/sleet/cold wet stuff has startedThere's not one to be seen.
And as for housework.....me tooplus wrapping of prezzies, plus washing & ironing, plus getting organised for school and work tomorrow, plus writing an essay..........I could go on but I'm just depressing myself.

glad to hear you made enough to cover your costs for the day Nora, sorry it wasn't any more than that.
I had an unexpected day with my neices today whilst my sister and her hubby went chrissy shopping, thankfully they behaved as i could have gladly sat there asleep for most of the time.0 -
Sorry Nora...the body armour is fully employed protecting him from my attempts to pack while he sits on his !!!! watching TV!
Hope you got your place tidied - ours seems to be a permanent sty just now, boxes everywhere, we get the keys to the house on Wednesday and I am sooo looking forward to being able to start moving the filled boxes and rediscovering the floor and before hiding it under yet more boxes. *Sighs* I hate this moving malarky - it will not be happening again next year, no way no how!!It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I'm so glad I only have to pack me - it's bad enough just coping with the opinions of others floating around (constant nagging not to put the xmas tree up...stuff 'em all, it's me who has to take it down again...so up it went!).
Haven't really done much on the tidying front today - kitchen still a no go area, and one one load of washing done....but the tree is decorated, and there are a few presents underneath it. Plus I've finally got round to packing a box of unused toiletries etc for GAMU (Give And Makeup) http://www.giveandmakeup.com/ which I'll post tomorrow.
Tomorrow I may even get round to wrapping the presents I've got for others... the one little corner of the living room where the tree sits is fast becoming a haven from all the packing...it's like it repels any suggestion of the complete chaos around it!0 -
Nora, i've not even started packing yet - i'm wondering if i'm nieve to wait until christmas before we start or whether i should do doing it now.0

Hope you've had a good packing day Missus Knitty
How long til the move now? I should know but I have enough trouble remembering my own name at the minuteFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Mr LT has found a source of boxes (that you buy) the only question is how many will we need to buy? why is everything/decision so hard?0

Hi
Sorry, have been a bit distracted with pottering around and slinging more CDs etc onto Music Magpie... two packages totalling nearly £40, and considerably less to move!Lemon_Tree wrote: »Nora, i've not even started packing yet - i'm wondering if i'm nieve to wait until christmas before we start or whether i should do doing it now.
Depends when your actual move is - pack too soon before, and you'll just stress yourself out. Why not use this time to really go through everything and bin, charity or ebay all but the absolute essentials....in my (quite impressive) moving history, I almost always end up moving with three or four boxes full of carp which ends up being decluttered months and months after I've settled.freebyfifty wrote: »Hope you've had a good packing day Missus Knitty

No chance of remembering as it's happening in various stages! Furniture and non-essentials go into storage a week tomorrow. I then have some time to clean the house and say goodbye to friends and colleagues, with my final day planned for 19th December.
Going to my mum's for Christmas (and the pub with old friends for Christmas Eve), then on to Kent on Boxing Day to settle into my new, albeit temporary, home...before nipping back up to Essex for a NYE party... My name is Nora, and I am a yoyo!!Lemon_Tree wrote: »Mr LT has found a source of boxes (that you buy) the only question is how many will we need to buy? why is everything/decision so hard?
Are you using a removal service? If so, you'd get free boxes, and in my experience they are very good at estimating the number you'll need. Plus you'll get them in plenty of time to pack.
If not, put a request out on freecycle - I've recently seen a couple of moving box lots being offered on my local site, so you may be lucky.
And this may (or may not) help: http://www.moving.com/moving-boxes/packing-calculator.asp0
