I read an article that said the ring was off her partner / husband (not sure which) and was bought at an auction. Last year during filming she lost the ring but it seems to be the same one so I am guessing it was returned to her.

I love her programmes as it is a welcome break from repeats on tv and she is so enthusiastic yet is happy to show her mistakes.

She did lose her original engagement ring in Marks & Spencers in London I believe, that was a Red Ring with Diamonds, it was replaced with the huge blue one she now wears.

I just found a link last night that showed, that the blue ring she now wears is a 1950's Aquamarine, doesn't state if that is white gold or Platinum, but like you I am betting on the latter.

Auction price of a similar ring I found listed in platinum, would be been between £6-9k.

I will still enjoy looking at it.

Yes I noticed that too - cynical?! Us?!

However I should imagine that everybody entering probably realised they hadn't got a chance of winning it.

But as part of the show is looking at the opposition, surely they needed to advertise for some to film beforehand?

I take this show at face value, Kirstie has nothing to gain by fraudulently winning and everything to lose. It's a bit of fun, lighten up!

Agree....this programme is a gem amongst a sea of turds that passes for TV these days

the big county shows will most likely have websites. Royal Cornwall certainly does. There should be some indication of how to enter from there. You request an entry schedule(might be a charge and usually an SAE is needed).

For smaller local shows ads/info on how to enter might be on local show society websites or in local papers.

Have a bit of a google for your area and words like ''show'' and crafts or specific things you are interested in and your area, or larger villages/towns within competing distance from you

Yes I found those but there is not even a mention of craft competitions in the results section. Its too early to request schedule for next year but by the time you can it is too late to start stuff
