Kirstie's Home Made

Options
Just watching channel 4 Kirstie Allsop (of Location, Location, Location fame) doing Home Made.

Does anybody know where she got her mixing bowls from or even who makes them, they are really beautiful and I would love to know?

That aside, picking up some great tips on home made baking as well.

Thank you Ladyg some of it is Brixton Pottery but even on Amazon the prices are a bit steep!

And yes it is Nicholas Mosse for the bowls as well and you want to see the prices of those. It's enough to knock you over with a feather!!

Oh come on - nobody really thought those bowls were from Poundstretcher did they?:D:D

Money saving is quite different in Kirstie's world you know.;)

I would never buy any cakes from Kirstie after I'd seen her mixing up her scone mix with that scarlet nail polish. Her hands were right in there and made me :eek:. Same with tying her hair back - yuk, it would have been great TV though if a judge had found a long, glossy black hair in their slice of Carribbean fruit cake.

Mind you, she's the one laughing isn't she - imagine getting paid to do what she did last night and then winning a prize (that was a bit obvious though).

    I've been Money Tipped!
I think her cakes and her home and everything WAS lovely, but I also thought it was not in good taste. ''Trophy hunting'' in that way in pony classes at local shows was considered VERY poor form, I don't see why it should be any different for cake classes etc On that basis the single cake entry should have stood, because she did it alone, but not the eclairs for which she was coached so well and intensley. I'm not saying they didn't sound delicious, they did. :)

I enjoyed the programme (and DH did too - secretly I mean!)!!!!!!

I'm surprised she won the cake competition after the judges claimed it was burned round the edges!

I thought most of the entries looked rubbish the girls brownies looked nice - the one who won the tea-party - it made me want to enter, I am sure her cake was Delias creole xmas cake with adjustments and the scones were very flat. I might do Gower Show next year. I think the crafts will be more interesting

Her scones looked burnt underneath! Strange way to display them too, I'd have put the tops on them, not left them open as she did.
Love her to bits though *crush*
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!
