Anyone used their complimentary tickets yet? Any challenges? I was thinking of doing a journey originating from New Southgate - Brighton but I am not sure if this is valid, since it would involve getting off at London Kings Cross, then going from St Pancras Intl to connect with trains to Brighton. Please let me know what you think :)

Dont see any reason why not. you will be travelling wholly on their services and its a valid route for the ticket.

Hi, I've got my free tickets, but can someone tell me if they're for peak or off peak services or OK to use on any as I am not sure?? Thanks!!
  • I want to use one of these tickets to travel from St Albans to Denmark Hill, breaking the journey at St Pancras on the way back. Does anyone know if a break of journey is allowed? I think it would be for an off-peak day return but there is nothing about breaks in the journey in the t&c's for these complimentary tickets.

Your BoJ is perfectly fine really IIRC.

But you wont be able to use this ticket to Denmark Hill as AFAIK the station and services are all run by Southern trains whose services these tickets are not valid on.

FCC does run services to Denmark Hill (at least according to the National Rail website).

Just wasnt sure as never seen one there really :rotfl: hence the abbreveation.

If they do then the ticket will be valid in answer to the OP.

The tickets,as has been said a lot on this thread, are valid only on services that FCC run - no others. Should there be engineering works on the core through london then they will be valid for cross london transfer by replacement bus or tube.

They appear to be valid for ANY joureny which would include a peak time journey but really it would be best to call FCC helpline for proper clarification on this point. I only say this as there is no mention on any restrictions on the tickets themselves.

Bit odd that another thread has started on the free FCC tickets... (thought MSE didn't like too many of a specific offer etc.)

I got mine a few days after most.

I thought nice idea having the paper inbetween BUT read that's to seal (after completing n scratching) each ticket! (not from the bottom but the top)

Glad you can choose your route for each ticket as we had to choose one on the sign up web form. (that might of been for the stats/email updates)
  • Used my first one today. City Thameslink (London) to Brighton. No trouble at all: even got a smile from the chap on the barrier at Brighton.

I have five and my girlfriend has five. She lives in Brighton and I live in London, so this offer is totally brilliant for us. Thanks FCC + MSE.

Got mine too :) Going to use 2 for me and my boyfriend to get to Luton airport, does anyone know if I write "Luton airport" as the destination, will this get us all the way to the airport or are we going to still need to pay for that silly little bus from the station to the airport?

Also, got another 3 to use... Brighton or Cambridge?
  • The FCC route map shows the Luton Airport Parkway to the actual airport bus link as 'through tickets available' and FCC's site says 'Remember to buy a ticket to/from Luton Airport (rather than Luton or Luton Airport Parkway) to include the cost of the shuttle bus.', so I reckon if you write Luton Airport on your tickets you're fine.

Received mine a couple of weeks ago, seen plenty of them appearing on eBay now too.

If anybody has any they don't need, I always need more! (travel to Gatwick weekly, could do with another 5 free trips before Christmas!)
