ooh thanks - i'm going to try the yeastless ones this weekend. Not sure about the cream cheese frosting tho - i think i'll just put a fairly runny plain icing on.

POL definitely wins hands down for me, even though it's more expensive to start. I knew I couldn't cope with 'dealing with' the boys, and if you get all hens then all you get are yummy eggs :)

IF you were thinking of buying an incubator anyway...think POL will probably come out about the same.

You could find someone who might loan you an incubator... I've got one in the shed that worked well for us. We've a full hen house at the moment so no need for hatching any eggs. Mind you, we do have two useless Fenton Blue hens that may be evicted from the Big Chicken House, making a bit of space.

This is totally OT, but can anybody give me that site where you can enter in what you eat every day and it counts the calories for you? Was it a "plate" or a dish or something in the title?

No ball of yellow here today! It's lashing with rain and wind out there, and after a promising start having a whip round with Hetty Hoover, I'm slumped in front of the computer (again)

DID get a reply back from my MP yesterday about the Mullins (the couple who killed themselves because they couldn't face another winter) He says that as it's not his constituency there is little he could do (as I suspected) but he goes on to say that he's had many very vunerable people here contacting him and he's doing what he can. The guy I know who had his DLA cancelled is still awaiting any sort of appeal. He finally heard back from them that they 'never received' his request for an appeal, which thanks to the CAB they now have and cannot deny...but if it is upheld on appeal, he's going to have run up a massive debt with the bank, that he will be liable for, and still no work, no benefits. What are people supposed to do...crawl off under a rock? Makes me very very cross.

Today I vowed I'd drag my christmas decorations out...so better get back off and do it.

Dinner tonight will be a cauliflower and broccolli cheese, but I need to use up all sorts of other fridge ends in it, like a bit of ham, and some pasta.

  • Hi everyone the yellow ball is shining here at the moment but rain is due so will make the most of it
I have been trying to movethe last few days without moving my back it is hellish at the moment and then yesterday my right leg totally gave up the ghost:( and it ended up with my poor hubby and son having to get me back from the kitchen to my magic chair that sits me up stands me up and down and lies me down :) (i love my chair) with as little squealing as possible and that was just them :D my squeals could probably be heard halfway up the street  so today my chair is keeping me sitting and hopefully my tramadol will maybe kick in or else its a visit to the dr's:mad:

Being in the Royal County (:D) we don't have a yellow ball but we have a Golden Orb :rotfl: but I think it is safe to say that we are not going to be seeing it today. Horrid clouds and howling wind have replaced it and i'm not happy.

I can't see me getting any wood cut today so its going to have to be a trip to the shops to get a sack of logs

Of course, I could just 'not have a fire' but clearly that is impossible as the novelty has not yet worn off :D

Would anybody know what happens if a parking ticket put under a windscreen wiper blows away/is removed/not there - this has happened to a friend of mine. Had a letter from council about none payment but she is adament that there was no ticket on screen and can only assume it was removed or blown away - she is not the sort to not pay or not notice a ticket under wiper. Any advice please?

You could suggest she ask for photographic evidence... If I were her thats what I would do... Does she remember parking where she shouldn't have? If she does then might as well pay up, if she doesn't then I would go to court and argue my point.

This happened to me and I phoned them up and explained the situation. They then let me pay the reduced rate. I believe they take photographs of the ticket on the car to prove they put it there.

Weightwatchers have an application where you can log your intake and it can tell you either in calorie or points value. I really should go back to using it - costs £9.95 per month and it scares me into eating properly.

Sorry I can't answer your question M but you may well have prompted me to reform my ways!

p.s. the yellow ball has drowned - somewhere in Central Scotland
