Morning all - typical on a day i don't have to go to work, i was awake at 5.30!!
I have a busy day planned - have promised myself a swim, have some finances to shuffle round accounts, soup to make, a parcel to collect and stuff to list on ebay, a kettle to take back to MrS (it's knob has fallen off ) and i am finally going into that cupboard under the stairs. Yep, really, don't hold me back - I'm going in!!
Got loads of YS bargains at Mr M yesterday - including a beef stroganoff with rice that i had for tea (about £3 reduced to 89p). Guess what? I didn't really like itand it cost me loads of weightwatchers points. The moral is not to buy stuff just cos it is a bargain, and that HM really is best. Got a decent loaf for 20p, which you might think is a bargain except that last week i got one for 9p!! :rotfl:
Right so i'd best get cracking - so much for having the day for a rest  have a good one allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Dear god! Come up and visit me and get taken suddenly ill and we'll go to my doctor!
Careful you may have to hire a bus to take all the poorly people from this side of the border to your doctor. Has he got a large waiting room :rotfl::rotfl:
A pre paid is ok if you have an ongoing complaint but it is those sneaky illnesses that take you by surprise that mount up. In the summer I stood on something in the garden which nearly made my foot black and drop off (well not quite) but when I went to the docs it was a case of try this and if it does not get any better come back. Well it didn't and in the end I had four prescriptions to get to the good stuff
I don't think you should pay if it does not work...........shouldn't it be fit for purpose :rotfl::rotfl:
I have a prescription with two things on it at the moment but can only afford one til payday so it will be a case of Eeny, meeny, miny, moe which pills will have to go.
The cat pen comes today :j:j
Had a lovely salad for tea last night. I know it sounds bonkers in this cold weather but everything was whoopsie and under 10p (apart from the custard) so we had chicken fillet bread crumbed, DH had kievs, two bags of salad, grated carrot, baby plum toms and crusty bread and for afters we had bananas and pink custard. I really enjoyed it:D
Hope you have a great day

Hi all......Out of curiosity when do you all put up your christmas decorations?.....Im going to put some lights up on the gable ends of the bungalow probaly at the weekend , but I wont turn them on til Dec 5 th ish........Then probaly do the inside tree etc 10 th ish..........
Im never a routine person, so my decos go up when I feel like doing them, they always come down pretty quick, cos I feel as soon as boxing is over I get fed up and want to have a real good house clean through, I cant sit still for more than 10 mins and im up, no wonder my feet always ache...........
Hope your all well and getting through the long dark days okay, god my body is crying out for more daylight, this drab weather holds me down, the SAD keeps popping up its ugly head and im trying hard to keep upbeat, oh well onwards and upwards as they say.........0 -
Shegar - we buy a real tree so wait until about two weeks before to get tree done. I may well decorate outside earlier this year to spread the job more but inside will be about the tenth for us. Although usually I end up still doing bits on Christmas eve.0

Afternoon all
shegar - I'm another SAD person - I've been OKish for the past few weeks but have started really struggling this week.Only another month until the shortest day of the year...
I tend to put my Xmas decs up around the second week of December - I always go away for Christmas so I like to get at least a couple of weeks of enjoyment out of them (although I've installed a heated clothes drier since last year so I have no idea where I'm going to put the tree... :undecided)
I had the handyman back today to look at the leak again (for the fifth time ) - he was a bit subdued so I suspect he may have had an earful from my landlord.I really, really hope it's fixed this time - I'm starting to get a bit tired of all the jokes at work about getting a boat for Christmas! :rotfl:
By way of celebration (well, not really), I popped on to Amaz0n and got myself a really good bargain - a wireless mouse that's designed to run on fabric. It sounds odd, but will be really useful as I don't have a TV and only watch programmes over the internet - now I can turn the volume up without getting up off the sofa (OK, it's lazy, but what the hey). Even better, I managed to dig out another survey voucher so it cost me a grand total of £4.99 - I'm not going to get it cheaper than that!
(Sorry, I'll go away and stop being pleased with myself now.

Back after a very long break!0 -
DD's birthday is the 11th Dec and DS2's the 6th Jan, so decs have generally gone up after DD's and down before DS2's birthdays. Pre children I used to put the tree up on the first weekend in Dec.
This year DH is planning on putting the lights up outside on the 3rd (it takes a while, so he wants to get enough enjoyment out of them!) The children's trees (we have 1 large one in the family room amd a small one in each of their 4 bedrooms) will probbaly be done the following weekend, even though it's DD's birthday - I think she wants them up for her party. Our's will probably be done (the living room tree) on the 11-12th) It's harder this year with Christmas falling on a weekend. They'll come down 4th/5th at the latest.
Chilly here today and I'm full of a snotty cold. Craving tasty food so had noodles with 2 peppers and a chopped (fiery) chilli stirred through with extra chilli sauce at lunchtime - may as well have been wool for all the taste I hadDinner is corned beef hash (using the last of the HG potatoes - all the teeny weeny ones (pea sized!) - think I might need to lace mine with peri-peri sauce to get my tastebuds going!

I'm the same Shegar, I cant stick to any rigid routine and I used to just put them up when I felt like cheering mself up. Usually around the 1st Dec. Not having any this year cos neither of us can be assed, and I gave the tree to my son last year when his blew up. Daughter put hers up yesterday and is doing the rest of her house today.0

I have been under the stairs and survived! :T
It wasn't that bad actually - despite the bag of MOUSE FOOD i'd left there! Actually it was hamster gerbil and mouse food but the poor old hamster croaked nearly 2 years ago and i'd not got rid of it. No signs of any meeces tho - thank goodness.
Some stuff went straight to rubbish and some was recycled, found a few bits i'd mislaid (including some christmas lights) and cleared 2 shelves to be an overspill pantry for the multi buys i may find.
GOt a fair amount of my list done - went for a swim (40 mins), picked up parcel (xmas pressie from amazon), sorted some finances, picked up some great bargains in Home Bargains (well named!) for my christmas party lucky dip, and finished the dreaded cupboard and made 1 lot of soup with another soon to be on the go.
A good day - the first of 5 days offLets hope the rest are as productive. Next room is our "walk in wardrobe"

Exploding xmas tree? :eek::rotfl:
I usually wait until the week before, but last year I only got the tree half decorated and didn't decorate anywhere else because with FIL in hospital with cancer, it was a bit of a downer.
Mind you, this year I have had no xmas mojo whatsoever, so I'm wondering if I should put up the decs early to get me in the mood. Usually by now, I've got all the pressies and wrapped them and have my menu sorted, lists all ticked etc. Only got some presents so far.0
