  • Morrrrning! No yellow ball here, but nobody squeezing out the clouds either....so I suppose that's a good thing. I do have one son re-tucked up in bed after throwing up this morning....but DH dealt with the sickiness and I kind of swept in at the end with cuddles. He's 12, but it's amazing how quickly they revert to "Mummy's little boy" again when they're feeling rotten :D

I, too, count to get to sleep :) Or I get comfy and then concentrate on where each part of me is in relation to the bed, starting with my toes. Nowadays I never get past my right knee :D

Today I shall be filling in forms, doing a quick tidy of downstairs and sorting out the fridge as got a few whoopsies yesterday ( liver down from £2.49 to 45p, and two lots of pork ribs down from £4 to £2 :D ) and I have leftovers, so I might get creative.......

    I haven't seen Marthada around :S
  • morning

I managed to sleep til 4am :j four solid hours sleep :j:j and I managed to walk down the stairs and not shuffle down on my bum :j:j hopefully it will be the end of bad back season for a while :D

DD is picking me up this morning and taking me to the church jumble as I dare not drive, there is never much there really but I am getting cabin fever stuck in the house :p. DD is 24 and still likes her alone with mum time and even complains every few months if she doesn't get it :rotfl: I never really thought about it but a lot of people moan they never see or hear from their kids when they leave home but I hear from mine every day or she just pops up for a quick cuppa. It may feel like someone has let Taz in the house when she arrives but it is nice to know she needs her Mum :D

Hope to be on later with my list of bargains

    Morning All!

Porridge morning - for breakfast and out of the window, the sky looks like porridge too! No yellow ball yet, here's hoping as it's a
garden day today - sawing up long logs ready for splitting later in the week.

Mardatha is posting on other threads I think, she was finding this one difficult to get 'into'.

How weird, I just came in to see what was happening and see my name SPELLED WRONG !!
MY NAME IS NOT MAD ARTHUR ! :rotfl::rotfl:
I've been MIA, not been well and flicked through some forums but couldn't be bothered to talk. Feel bit more human this morning so have already posted in the "winter" thread. Sort of lost the plot and interest a bit since the the demise of the tough thread though.
Was reading a great book, called "Bettys Wartime Diaries" got it on Amazon. My god - all I can say is that rationing didnt make any difference in rural Norfolk. Dont read it if you're hungry :D
Been looking into changing diet as the ME just isnt going away, advice ranges from Atkins to Vegan so I take it as usual, nobody has a bloody clue.
  • Sorry to hear you've been feeling under the weather Mardatha, but very very glad to see you back on line.:)
ME is such an awful thing, one of the "invisible" illnesses. Hope you continue to improve.

I've got the yellow ball! :j I've also got this afternoon off work as the plumber's coming round to have another go at fixing the leaky sink (fourth time lucky - please?!) so I might even get to enjoy it for once. :)

mardatha - sorry to hear about your illness. I hope you find something that helps very soon.
Back after a very long break!

:D OMG, I'm blinking like a recently-surfaced mole but it's definate.....the Yellow Ball is shining over Provincial City after days and days of fog and greyness.....let the joy be unconfined. :D Hope we all get a share. Damned shame I'll have to go to work today as I'd love a walk in the woods.

Mardatha great to see you posting again, missed you. I've had ME for 23 years now and have been-there-done-that-got-the-blinking-tee-shirt with all the so-called "remedies" and can't say I've found anything other than not going mental and overdoing it on the "good" days any use whatsoever.

Have been wrangling with the library website and ordered some books as they have managed to spread a short fiction sequence over the entire county - budget cuts, I guess. Will look forward to getting them. Have spotted that one is "on shelf" at the hometown so I will call the folks shortly and ask them to pick it up for me and they can bring it up on Sunday. Well, a few pence saved is a few pence earned, as they don't say.

 The New Fingy was playing me up yesterday at work so I have captured a screen-shot of its badness so that it can be brandished in front of the cooks (or whomever it is that makes software) at the next recipe meeting..........and yes, I turned it off and turned it on again..........:rotfl:

Not a lot of excitement happening here; I still have the flytipped car tyre outside the flat and SuperGran spotted the housing officer striding thru the neghbourhood yesterday, so no doubt he spotted it, too. If I get a telling-off I shall be cross as it appeared when I was out for a few hours on Sunday and I haven't got a blessed car anyway, so why would I have a tyre?!

I hate it when fly-tipping appears near my home as I feel it makes me look like a sloven.

;) The annual migration of the greater fourwheeled Shoppingus trolleyus has been spotted in the nearby river, which means that we are only weeks away from the conius trafficus swimming up-river to the traditional spawning grounds. As is the longstanding custom of Provincial County, the good ole boys from the Highways Department will be donning their waders and stringing seine nets* to capture them and take them back to the depot where they belong.

Oh dear, I'm talking drivel again. Nuuurrrrrsssssssseeeee!!!!!! Tea, and on the double!

Hope everyone has a lovely day and a share of the Yellow Ball. GQ x

    * I've heard of seine nets but have no idea if you string them or trawl with them and am too idle to Google........;)

Ditto, M. Sorry you are not fighting fit ;).

I 'lived' Atkins for three years, suited me and I lost weight and felt great - I certainly had bags more energy eating low carb, I think I am one of those that does better getting energy from fats not carbs (my pet theory is we are genetically wired in different ways to process food, which is why some diets don't suit some people).
