Morning Gang.
When I went to collect car two from the garage last night, having dropped it off when I picked car one up after the MOT work, he told OH that it was some damp in one of the spark plugs...I got my card out and said how much do we owe you, and he said "Oh that's fine - you can have that one on us" !!!! Now THAT is a rare thing. OH drove it home and says it's now fine (We did buy this car off them two months ago to be fair!) But we are very glad to be a two car family again it makes life here in the sticks so much easier.
Last night DS had fishy leftovers with extra pasta, and OH had the pasties I made for lunch with Chips, I managed to fit one in too, and there are some for lunch today. So all round that felt a bit like free food.
Which is just as well as I did have a bit of a splurge yesterday, at Cath KidstonBut it's a few bits for Xmas and for the kitchen, so it's not like it's for 'me' really is it??? Hmmm and then blooming Gudren Sjoden sends me her blooming gorgeous catalogue...and there are really lovely things in it. I wish they weren't so dreadfully expensive. I'm really sure that if I could wear lovely multicolour, folky, ethnicy dresses, and skirts, and lush coloured tights my days would be SO much nicer... she's a baggage, so I've filed the catalogue with the others - eye candy - and inspiration for when I finally get a chance to do clothes sewing again!
I was going to do a bit of sewing this morning, but I can't get the daylight lamp to come on, I'll have to ask OH to look at it, he fiddled with it last time it wouldn't switch on and it came on, something to do with a starter for the bulb, but I've twiddled and nothing happened
Off to be a laundry fairy...have a good day all.

ETA - the banana cake lasted less than an hour. There's something very satisfying about watching something you made getting scoffed, isn't there?Back after a very long break!0

VJsmum - have you ever had any of their meat boxes? I am eyeing them up but they really are expensive.
Well, I have a new sofa and a new landing carpet. They have measured up for the stairs runner so that has gone to be whipped. The bathroom is now virtually finished so just maybe the end of these flipping renovations is in sight!!!! I am losing the will to live.0 -
I agree - when our DW died just before on 20.12.10 I was determined we would have another in before Chistmas Day - and we dont have a big Christmas - with snow up to the window sills and not a gritter in sight we dug out the car in desperation on 23rd December and drove to nearest town to get one - such is our hatered of washing by hand! Sad I know
Me too!paidinchickens wrote: »Same here :rotfl:
Off to clear the mess up now and worship in front of the dishwasher

That made me LOL!!! BrilliantI would carry a dishwasher home on my back rather than wash up by hand. My hands react to excessive exposure to cleaning materials and to rubber gloves. So for my own comfort they are an essential. Ds1 gets pocket money for doing the washing up that won't go in the dishwaster.
OMG When I read this I nearly broke a rib laughing :rotfl: and am still laughing now!!! That is just too funny for words. I have a very vivid imagination - I wish others could see the image in my head of you trudging home literally with the DW on your back raising an eyebrow at people who look at you as they drive past :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Thanks for posting0 -
Well, so far today I've changed the marital bed and have two loads of washing on the line.
That's todays weather sorted then (rain, probably).
OH has gone out so I have a whole day to myself and plan to spend an indulgent time vacuuming, ironing and batch cooking. When I'm out for the day he spends his time wisely reading the papers and watching TV.
Yesterday I met up with some old school friends in M&S cafe in Brum. Their service seems to be awful wherever we go, massive extremely slow queues. Never mind, we had an afternoon of catching up and remembering. Nice - I've blocked out huge chunks of my childhood and need friends to remind of those times (good and bad).
Why is it that I'm old and wizened and they haven't changed a bit?
'Spect it's down to Nivea cream or something.
Have a good day folks and don't take any wooden nickels.Normal people worry me.0 -

My little old man (my old next door neighbour) rang to check it is still ok for him to come to us at crimbo :j looks like he really means to come so that has made me happy.
DS did not even moan when he found out he would have to give his bed up and sleep on a blow up bed in the other kids room  How sweet is that :T

katieowl - a good spray of WD40 would have cured your spark plug problem - it's fairly common in damp weather.
Have completed part one of sorting out the back bedroom and now have lots of storecupboard goods on shelves in there. Next stage involves clearing the rest of the room and putting in a worktable and more shelves (have already got these) so the room will be a craft/sewing room as well, plus there is room to set my airer up permanently near the window and airing cupboard so winter clothes drying is sorted too. It was incredibly dusty/mucky after XOH had used it as a store room for years so I couldn't do the whole lot at once and will start again after lunch."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Thanks so much re the cheerios Kitti will nip in there on the way back from DS2's appointment theres one just over the road from there.
Any idea how many vouchers I can use in MrT's ?? Aesop thanks for that link I always forget to check the voucher thread *naughty DD *
it says only coupon can be used against each product purchased, so in theory the SA should allow you to use one coupon against each box you purchase. if they say no, say you will do them as individual transactions, that is what I do.0 -
*Takes a bow* I'm glad I amused you Frugal. I hope the image includes untamable hair and mint green Doc Martins covered in pink and yellow spots. Also not a lot of space between the two as I'm 5 foot nothing on a good day
(I brought the DMs to embarass the monsters, but it failed as they loved them)
I've spent the morning at the hospital Eye Clinic with DS1. Thankfully everything is as good as can be expected and we don't have to go back for 8 months.
Now I just need to remove DH from the pc and convince him to take me to Sainsburys. It means one less thing to do tomorrow and tomorrow is going to be hectic as it is. I think I'll bribe him with the promise of mince pies and see if that works
I'll report back on any bargains. Take care xxxxxxxxxxx0
