Evening everyone......I need to confess my sins. I've just got back from Tesco with DH and brought frozen roast potatoes, an Aunt Bessie's Apple Pie, posh ready made custard and rib eye steak :embarasse
In my defence the ribeye steak was down to half price and DH is on call this week. So I can make him a meal in a hurry if he has to head out the door. Also the apple pie was £1. I did shop at Aldi this morning as well.
That should cancel out a few lots of washing out sandwich bags, re-using teabags and knitting my own shedded wheat.
It has just turned into one of those weeks where I don't care any more. I'm tired of worrying about the shopping bills and going around turning things off and bargain hunting. The rest of the family don't seem to give a fig about any of it and I'm fed up of fighting them.
So I'm going to eat my brought apple pie and custard and then see if I can start again tomorrow.0 -
Some git nicked the milk off our doorstop this morning. Hope they choke.
The lovely company that delivered it though have taken the cost off our bill, how nice was that. Still they shouldn't have to bear the cost either though

I can really sympathise, I go around turning off lights and 'unfilling' the enough water to drown in kettle, unplugging stuff, adding lentils to everything and ironing wrapping paper, while most times they all use stuff like drunken sailors!!
It gets me down sometimes too, so I do feel a little blowout now and then is in order, just don't beat myself up about now.
I don't have false nails, posh clothes, sky movies/sports, a contract I-phone, a car, a cosmetic habit, go to bingo or eat chocolate, so a ready made trifle now and again is hardly going to get me a hot seat in H*ll now is it?0 -
Re the milk thing, just dye it green with food colour, harmless but really stops them using it.0

Hi, do any of you with slow cookers, just bung mince meat in without frying it first? I usually fry and then bung in slow cooker for bolognaise, chilli etc. but haven't got much time tomorrow and have a huge amount of mince bulk bought that I want to make up as a base for other things. I wondered if I could just chuck it in with some onions chopped in the food processor and some other chopped veg and some oats, and then flavour for bolognaise, shepherds pie etc later on. What do you think? I remember my mum used to just boil mince and onions before putting it in meat pies. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

_pale__pale__pale__pale__pale__pale_ Thanks but I think I'll pass on that!0 -
I have done mince without frying it off first. It is a little different in taste but I doubt most people would notice it once other flavours are added. I just break it up in the liquid a bit so there are no big clumps.0

I never fry meat off in the SC. It just looks pink at the end but is definitely cooked.0
