    @Frogletina - don't deny yourself anything.

    Hi amancalledmartin

I think I am the way I am now because I haven't denied myself anything!

Actually, I know when I decide to give up chocolate that it takes about 3 weeks and then I no longer want it, so here's hoping

For me it's comfort eating and I have to find something else to do rather than go to the cupboards. I did feel like chocolate 2 days ago but I didn't give in and the feeling passed so I was really pleased with myself.

I have eaten more than I should have done today because I ate lunch early with my daughter and then ate quite a bit when I came home, so my usual pattern of eating was not the same and I had a sponge pudding as well (last one in the cupboard - so that's good)

just change to Options for the hot chocolate and you'll be fine. As for the guylian. I feel your pain

Yes, I only have options in the house - I love the jazzy ginger one

But I meet up with my daughter once a week and we go to Costa's, so I need to find something else to drink there. We have been having the frappes there

  • I forgot to say earlier that I was at the nurse tonight for a wee check up and my blood pressure is high . So yet another reason to get some more weight off. I read on t
internet as well that caffeine plays a big part in high blood pressure so I am going to have to cut right back on the fizzy juice I drink and get onto the squash and water more. Now I am a total addict so that will be difficult for me

  • Can I please join? I dont need to loose too much weight, a few kilograms, but recently my snacking has become out of control. If I dont get a handle on it soon im not going to be able to fit into any my clothes and there is just no way I can afford a new wardrobe. I will post my food diary for the day later. although its already been pretty bad. Im a few timezones ahead, so ive just had lunch. Along with lunch came a lot of snacking though :(

I have high blood pressure, the whole of my family right back to my mothers grandmother have it, although I know loosing some weight wouldn't hurt mine is never going to be normal (what ever normal is) I have 2 tablets a day and it is fairly stable now.

When it was diagnosed 18 years ago (when I had my son) I gave up caffeine and salt, this really does help in keeping it down. I do drink normal tea, but no caffeine otherwise and no salt (or very little).

Yesterdays diary is not good...started out well and then slipped, I am defintely better not opening the wine :(

    Breakfast. weetabix
    Lunch. soup, crackerbread and philly
    Dinner. Steak, chips and mushrooms.
Snacks,. Options hot choc, one rich tea biscuit
After dinner. One bottle of wine and 2 packets of cheese puffs...oh yes and a penguin bar. Why oh why did I open the wine. I can never stop at one glass. Won't do that again till the weekend.

    No willpower...................................

Hi Joesaunt- maybe buy those little bottles- i know they are pricey but £1.50 at tatcos just now and limit yourself to that one.
Hi findingmyway- i know the feeling- my meals are fantastic- controlled portions, balanced calories and colurs- but the snacks- chosen with cae for as much goodies as possible- in my case nuts and wafers and fudge and variety and quantities so i'll never run out.- it's like i am a nutritional jekyll and hyde!
@millionaire- that'll light a fire under your bum! Not good to get a fright like that but it is good motivation. My dad is a doctor and has always threatened me with ill health effects of my weight in later life (granted he did start far too early (11) and that didn't help)
@Frog- I suded to get starbucks all the time and just have those wafers instead of a cake or whatever- not necessarily low fat but much better option than any of the cakes- I even tried to drink alll those horrible chai drinks (lower fat) but that didn't stick at all.
    have a good day all!

  • Im hoping I can shame myself into stopping the snacking

    Breakfast: cornflakes
    Snack: a pear
Lunch: 2 marmite sandwiches another pear and a few biscuit type things
Dinner: beans on toast with melted cheese
Snack: small piece of bread with nutella on it.

Tomorrow im going to try reduce my cooking and cook a pasta dish that will last me a few meals so I cut down on the bread ive been eating.

Hope everyone has a better day than i did.

Can I join in? I’ve been in on the weight loss thread too, but it’s been pretty quiet there. I have already lost 1st 3lb but still have a heck of a long way to go. I’m unlikely to reach my goal weight by Christmas LOL but I’d settle for another stone off.
I’ve been trying to do lots of exercise, mostly with the wii. I have 2 days where I just don’t have time (although I’m going to try to fit in the 30 day shred even on these days), so I aim for 5 exercise days a week - most weeks I have a rest day so only do 4. When I do my routine is:
    • 30 mins wii step
    • 30 mins wii jogging
    • 30 mins wii boxing
    • 30 day shred
Most times I manage that, although occasionally I’ll miss out the boxing. The change in my body shape seems much more dramatic than the actual weight difference to me, and I really wish I’d taken some measurements first. But hey ho.

I’ve just started using myfitnesspal to log food and exercise if anyone else is. I’m Angry_Bear on that :).
