My plans for this weekend coming (and yes, I'm already counting down until Friday) include a craft show ten minutes away from where I live. Woo! I'll have less to spend than normal as I was only at the SECC at the beginning of March but I've got £30 in my crafty fun account and should have £50 in Paypal money on its way to me, so it's a self-funding fun trip :D

Today shall be a spendy one - I'm using the last of the money in my entertainment budget to pay for tickets to the aforementioned craft show. That does guarantee free tea though, so I think it's a sensible MSE decision :D I've convinced one of my friends to come along with me, as she loves all things glittery even though she doesn't "do" papercrafts. I'm going to be writing a list today of all the things I actually need to buy that I'm running low on, and a small wishlist of wants.

I'm also going to do a new SOA sometime this week as I've had a small payrise and need to do some number crunching. I'm going to have to work out a budget for now (while I'm still paying off my car loan) and when it's paid off (should be no more than three months) I called the bank yesterday and the outstanding balance is around £398 so I will owe under £300 when my next repayment goes through - in theory that would mean I could use my savings to clear it, but I don't know if I feel comfortable doing that and having NO cushion. Will post up the SOA tonight if I have time to calculate it today ;)

I love watching all the dance movies :D

Regarding the book - i ordered 3 actually  - ok 1 was not cardmaking but i stumbled across it and its a craft that i've really admired and wanted to get into - and it would also work well with cardmaking too :) Then the other 2 books were 1 was like a dictionary type thing ?? Think its a couple or a few hundred pages covering each individual technique rather than actual design ideas and the other one was about 300 pages methinks of cardmaking goodness - as they were all £4 or £5 each i was quite happy with that as i think thats what the mags are although as you say they do come with freebies. Plus OH can often nab the comp - we share one so i can't always follow something on a site - i can sometimes just feel him hovering waiting to check his stuff - and he says we don't need 2 computers! Ooh for a little tablet where i could access all things MSE and crafty :o

Excellent news on the payrise, loan balance and craft fair too :D

    Money in:

    Wages - £1310

    Money out:

    Mortgage - £214
    Council tax - £118
    Union deduction - £10
    My phone - £40
    Mr F's phone - £17
    Gas/electric - £60
    TV Licence - £13
    Home insurance - £17
    Virgin media - £38
    Current account fee - £8
    Loan - £108
    Petrol - £100
    Holiday savings - £20
    Gym - £13
    Moggy fund - £20
    Entertainment - £50
    Christmas/birthdays - £40
Car fund (for MOT, insurance etc) - £60
    Food - £190
    Second purse - £20

    Total outgoings: £1156

    Surplus: £154

A couple of points to note:

    • Although the gym is a direct debit in my SOA, it doesn't start being debited until August when said gym opens, I've got it in here to remind myself about it :)
    • My original food budget before Second Purse began was £210, so I'm not spending any more than that on food at the moment overall.
    • My loan has £390ish outstanding and will be paid off in under three months hopefully with overpayments and regular direct debits. Once this is done I'll be raising my car savings to £100 per month, the cat fund to £50 and the rest will go to my surplus.

    Well done :D

I have 7.5lbs to go until I reach my first goal. That's at the top of the healthy weight range for my height, so would like to lose another half stone on top of that, but not setting any pressure if I don't hit it :)

I read somewhere on the forums about something that you can join with the Royal Mail where you track when you send letters and they compensate you for doing this with stamps. I use a lot of stamps and the coming price rise is going to hit me hard so I'm interested in finding out more but don't know where to start. If you have any idea what I'm talking about PM me :D
