Halifax have put their mortgage rates up, had letter 3 days after the rise and mine rises from the date the BOE announced the rise.
I rang A&L as I had a problem with my direct savers account and asked them if they plan to put the rate up. She just stumbled and then said she cannot comment as no decision has been made.0 -
At Halifax the Isa saver direct has increased I noticed from website
and some of the fixed rates0 -

i thought it went up to 5% before as it was 4.75% before the change before last
It wouldn't have been higher than BOE rate would it ?0 -

Halifax's ISA Saver Direct has been paying 5.25% since December 1st 2006. Please see this thread which announced the rate rise, here. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
I'm sorry guys. So they were paying more than the BOE then
Lets hope they increase it to 5.50% then0 -

Don't worry about it, it was only recently that many savings rates were increased following the November BOE rate rise. Having another BOE increase so soon after the last one can cause confusion.regularsaver1 wrote:So they were paying more than the BOE then
Yes, they have been paying 0.25% above base rate on their ISA for sometime. The Websaver on the other hand tends to match base rate.regularsaver1 wrote:Lets hope they increase it to 5.50% then
Agreed. I hope they do increase it and by the full 0.25% again. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

So, even if they raise it by 0.25% now...it'll still be 0.25% below where it could (should) have been.0 -
Least its much better than the book branch based isa
and my isa investor is not doing bad either0 -

I also remember when Halifax cut their rate at the start of the 2006/07 tax year. Here is the thread where the ISA Saver Direct rate cut was revealed. Please call me 'Kazza'.0
