Has your savings rate increased...

...further to the last BOE rate rise?

With some notable exceptions, there is the usual gnashing of teeth, wringing of hands and dragging of feet from the financial institutions wrt deposit rates.

AFAIK there have still been no detailed announcements from the following

Nationwide*
Halifax*
Alliance & Leicester*
ING*
Birmingham Midshires*
Yorkshire Building Society*
Citibank
Northern Rock*
Ipswich BS*
Cahoot*
Bradford & Bingley*
Sainsbury's Bank
Smile

Any others?

Please feel free to add the details to this thread as they become available. There is, of course, a separate thread for 'guaranteed' rate rises.(Mr. Mumble).

* 'Announcement' now made.

  • "Nationwide will be increasing rates on all variable rate mortgage and savings products by 0.25% on 1 February 2007"

What could be unclear about that? If you have a variable rate savings account you will get the full increase of 0.25%

They said that last time, and then didn't apply it across the board due to their own definition of what a variable savings account is. I will wait for the official detailed announcement, by account, thank you very much.

  • Can't tell you how relieved I am that ING's consistent rate has stopped me having to trawl best-buy tables. After all, if I did, I'd find out they were now almost a whole percentage point behind the top rates.

I'm amazed they haven't acted yet to pass on this rise and reduce the damage they've done to their brand. In fact I'm starting to wonder if they will take any action at all.....
    Great !

Yes I've noticed that. Still only 4.40% AER, and even that includes a 6 month 'bonus' of 0.50%.

Sainsbury's Bank is another yet to make an announcement.

I don't think Tesco's have announced their's yet. p.s I know Tesco is not a great rate but it allows me to put my student loan in there and take money out by cashcard so I can squeeze as much interest out of my money as possible.
