Evening guys
Alan has been 'ok' today. At least he is brighter again after the last week of it getting him down at timesIt helped with getting out yesterday
Gill, his stoma nurse, came today about 4.30pm and stayed for about half an hour, chatting and finding out how things were going. She is lovely. Raises your spirits as soon as she speaksAnyway, she asked if Alan thought that a support belt might help and he agreed that it should. The pain is there when he sneezes, coughs or yawns, but not if he holds his sides when doing it, and is not tender otherwise. So she is going to order him a wide support belt but it will take a week or two to come as it will have to have a hole cut into it for his bag. As we are going back up North for a few days next week, and then hopefully down to Portsmouth after that, she is going to check up on him in two weeks time. Alan was much brighter after her visit :j
He went to bed but just to read after she left and I took the dogs out for a good walk, and when I got back and was getting my shoes off, etc, our friend Stuart arrived so Alan got back up and we had a cuppa and a chat, which was good for him too
Nothing planned for tomorrow, except to take some rubbish to the tip, but we will see how things are in the morning to see what else we might doMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi Mandy, sorry you've had a 'why me' day, but you and Nick have been on this road for a while now and it is bound to drag you down, so sending (((((hugs))))) to both of you
We had a weepy morning the other day, don't know if I posted about itThe dogs had been getting Alan down with their barking and playing and he lost his temper with them. The next morning I asked what he wanted to do about the dogs and we were both in tears discussing the pros and cons of getting them rehomed when neither of us really wanted that. He loves them as much as me, and knows that I will need them after he has gone, so said we had to work more on keeping them quiet and if they get too much for him, they could go into the kennels for a few days to give him a rest. As I said, they are booked in for 2 weeks anyway from 18th June and would then be back in for our Devon holiday. So we agreed it was best to leave it till after the holidays and see how things were then
Hope Nick is getting enough nourishment hun to keep his strength and weight up, and that the steroids help with that. Alan is eating less than he was but is maintaining his weight after regaining the 2 stones he lost after the op. But his appetite is less and he struggles to 'fancy' something to eat which makes it more difficult. He had no bother with the Tosco finest cheesecake tonight though
Alan was sleeping right through the night and, when he went to bed during the day, he slept well then too. But lately he hasn't slept as well and often just lies resting rather than sleeping. At least now he is reading when resting in bed and, with these extra meds, is sleeping a little better during the nightMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I can understand that - Dr Dragon keeps asking how Alan is getting on - so I show him your posts on here.

Don't panic Dragon it's not good for your health and it's what the b*gger's want, you don't want to give 'em the satisfaction , get your Doctor to help out with the form's as well as getting letter's from any clinic's you go to, and don't forget place's like Citizan Advice for help filling form's in if the Doc's only allowed to give letter's out.£71.93/ £180.000

Dr Dragon will help me with the form (for a start I can barely write these days!), they (the DWP) phoned just before 9 this morning (I was still in bed trying to get SOME sleep) I phoned back when I was finally up and dressed (over an hour later - that's how long it takes me on a good day :eek:), passed from pillar to post to find out that they basically tell you what was in the letter and then send the questionnaire out :mad::mad:, I was almost hyperventilating and crying by the end of the time on the phoneDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Doesn't sound good Dragon ((((((Hugs))))) but not too tight in case it hurts you
Try not to worry about the IB/ESA switch hun. With your medical problems, you should be put on the 'unable to work' rather than 'work based activity group' and your benefit will stay at the same rate anyway, due to long term IB. As Boult says, don't hesitate to contact CIB as it is all about the wording of what you/Mr Dragon puts on your form. And make sure you state on the form, that he is filling in the form for you due to you being physically unable to do it
We slept in this morning - woke up at 11.30 amThis is very bad for Alan, as this meant that he didn't have his morning tablets until noon and then that has the knock on of having to squeeze his other 3 lots into 12 hours
So I have decided to set the alarm for 8 every morning and have his tablets in the bedroom wwith a drink for him to take at the right time, even if staying in bed. Anyway, after his breakfast, he got terrible pains from wind - again, a result of too long between eating. Got to get myself more organised
He's had some peppermint cordial and gone back to bed nowMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
