seriously though, it is perfectly normal all the emotions Alan is going through. And it is much better he shows them and talks to you about it, then bottles it up inside
I know but it has not always been like this. For years, Alan would bottle things up and then explode   but these days, we are able to talk openly about things. That is how we managed, eventually, to deal with our debt, by talking about it, after not being able to mention it for years for fear of an eruption
We are much closer these days than we have ever been, oddly enough. Not just since this cancer, but possibly it has been since Alan's first cancer in 2007. His outlook changed then thankfully
I am glad we can deal with it like this, together. It does make it easier to bear
Best get to bed now - night night - sleep well :AMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

My Dad has to take a lot of different medications and when they got too much for the pill organiser my mum started using the clear tubs you get takeaways like chinese in, labelled with the different times.
I don't know what to say either, I feel a bit awkward posting as reading through the thread I feel like I know you, but don't want to sound over familiar having not posted before
I meant what I said though, I have a dog and am always out and about with him, the kids, at local boot sales and what not. If you need a hand with anything or want anything picking up or anything, don't hesitate to give me a shout xStarted comping 23/05/12Thankyou to everyone who takes the time to post competitionsWins: Pantera CD, Hunter Wellies0 -

Yes, Boult has it in one. I think I say in the first post, Strangers are just friends we haven't met yet. Just going to check
Yes:We’ve made such lovely new friends during the time this thread has been running, and hope to make many more as time goes by, after all, friends are just strangers that you haven’t met yet, aren’t they?Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Anyway, Alan had a better night last night. He got up, had his breakfast and has gone back to bed, but is talking about going down to the cafe today so that is positive :j :j
Right, must feed these poor doggies now as they are swamping me as I try to typeMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Well, we did go to the cafe, about 2.15, and had the all-day breakfast. Alan couldn't finish his, with is unusual, and went all 'zonked' after eating, as is normal these days. But we still went to the auction for a quick look around as Alan wanted to see his mates there, but by the time we got home, he could hardly get into bed, he was that shattered
After a sleep, he got up when a friend called and then stayed up to watch some footie, before going back to bed around 8.30pm. But it has been a better day. He was much more positive and enjoyed his time out of the house :jMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Lovely that you are getting out, even if it does make Alan tired, at least you are getting the most out of each day.

Hi all
Hope you are all well.
Susan Nick is on steroids as the last lot of treatment didn't do much. Cancer has spread and he lost a lot of weight. Steroids will hopefully build him up a bit.
I know sleep is good for them but it freaks me out! I often prod him as I am paranoid that he is not breathing! Not much help really!
Watch out for the codiene, its a good pain relief but can cause constipation which is no good if u have a bag. Get some natural senna pills in ready in case Alan 'clogs up'.
Eating wise Nick is struggling with more than one meal a day at the mo so I have Nestle Build Up - nicer tasting than complan but if he can manage two milkshakes its as good as a main meal.
Emotionally we are both shot to !!!!,(excuse my language but we have had a why me day). Am fed up with being told how strong I am because I have no option but to be strong for him. Nick hates it too, think its the Alpha male provider bit.
Thanks for link to E-E Aesop will get all relevant details together and get in touch with her.
Beanie lots of people don't know what to say so just skirt around it. But you are brave enough to still keep posting and that shows you care.
Boult I could do with a huge cyber glass of your homemade wine!!
Take care all
