Susan get one of those hand held bells so that if Alan needs to call you in future, he can ring the bell.
Did you ever apply for a Macmillan Grant? That will help towards the cost of buying things like the BP monitor.0 -

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and give you and Alan a big hug.
Hope Alan feels better again tomorrow and that you can get out again if the weather isn't too awful.
I may not post on here but I do keep an eye on your diary and am thinking of you both.
Take care

Hiya Spoon - thanks for popping in and for your kind words :Aawww (((((((((((((Susan and Alan))))))))))))))))))))

We haven't actually submitted the grant form yet, just have to drop a note in to CAB with details of what our claim is for
Alan had a good sleep last night and had his tablets at 8am then went back to sleep for a while, but was hungry so got up about 10.45am. I stayed in bed, but heard him retching so got straight up then. He'd been putting his breakfast cereal out when he felt sickly and started retching - was only fluid, and it had stopped. He sat down and I finished doing his cereal and fruit and when he started eating this he felt better
We watched the cricket for about an hour, but he had the pain in his side, so ended up having to go back to bed, where he is nowMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

No, he's still in pain. He got up about 6 for something to eat - slices of gammon joint and jersey royals which he enjoyed but then straight back to bed to ease the pain
I rang Macmillan Nurse but not there at weekends, so left a message saying he was in pain and could she call round to see him Monday, or give me a ring. Otherwise I will ring GP for him to come to see Alan again and review his medsMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I hope he is feeling better today. If not then could you phone the GP - there must be an out of hours service.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Evening all
Alan still not up to going out today but is a bit better he said, less pain and sleeping lots. I was going to go down to the car boot on my own about 11am but Molly decided she had hurt her leg and ran around yelping and holding her foot up, squealing if I went near it. Couldn't find out what was wrong and was very worried, thinking 'typical - Sunday and no vet open, but I eventually got her to sleep on my lap for a half hour and she was ok after that, so she had probably just stood on a sharp twig, or twisted something. Once I was sure she was ok, it was about 2pm so I just went to the car boot cafe and had a chat with friends and cafe owners, then a quick trip to Ald! and then Tosco
I really lost it in Ald!Tigerwhite had told me that Ald! had doorbell things with bell housing that you clip onto your belt and they were only £4.99 so I looked all over for them. None to be found so, having picked up a pair of PJ bottoms for Mr 3Dogs, I asked the cashier about them as I paid. She rang for help and the assistant manager eventually came after the 2nd ring. She sauntered up to the tills and when I asked her about them she just murmered 'don't know anything about them'. I said they were in Thursday's offers so she went to look. A while later, I saw her at the far end of an aisle, waving something in my direction, so I went down to check. As I got through the tills, an assistant came past me with an electronic thing that they check stock/prices on and I looked at him to see if he wanted me, but he just brushed past so I went to the back of the store, to find the A/Manager checking back fridges. Getting a bit annoyed by this time, I asked if she had found any, and she replied 'didn't he say anything?' No, I said and she just looked mystified so I stormed baack up to the tills where the guy was helping cashier with a problem. I said I think you have some information for me, he said 'what about' and I said 'doorchimes' to which he answered 'Oh, we haven't got any'. Blood was boiling and I let loose, saying 'Why couldn't she just tell me that' and 'this is the first time I have had bad service in this shop and it's terrible service' storming out of shop with my head pounding
I checked when I got home and they are not for sale in store till this coming ThursdayI felt awful at losing my temper and felt like going back to apologise. I can tell that my concern for Alan is getting to me, for me to be that short tempered

Try not to worry about it too much 3dogs.

The dogs go into the kennels tomorrow and the plan is to go up North on Tuesday but I can't honestly see Alan travelling yet, unless they can get his pain under control quickly. We will just wait and see how it goes. Hopefully, either the Macmillan Nurse or the GP sees him tomorrow and he gets his meds reviewed to something to take the pain away, and then we will know what he is able to doMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
