When you put it that way ...:j:j:j:j:D

All done. Getting out of LoveFilm is an experience.

Me: Good morning. I'd like to cancel my membership.

Them: Certainly. Can I ask why?

Me: I don't have time to watch the films and want to save the money.

Them: Certainly. But I see you are not making the most of your membership and you haven't rented a DVD this month... I]ummm ..like I just said...[/I I can tell you I can reduce your membership to £5.99 a month. Shall I go ahead and reduce it?

Me: No thanks. I want to cancel it completely.

Them: Certainly. I can tell you that we can offer you a payment holiday for 3 months so you don't get charged and no DVDs will be issued. Shall I go ahead and set up the payment holiday?

Me: NO - please cancel it altogether.

Them: Certainly... We offer...[by this time I was losing the will to live..]... shall I go ahead...?

and so it went on for about 5 minutes! Thank goodness it is a free phone number!

It was the "Shall I go ahead" that got me. No "would you be interested in.." or any such preamble! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Anyway all done now. :T

Morning diary (and anyone still reading!). Today MUST be a "concentrated work" day so no lists - just back to back 50+10 poms to get this report done. Will take a break at lunch to do some financial planning - and will have 10 min breaks where I might get on here - but otherwise - if you see me - boot me off back to work please!

Miserable wet morning and dogs are refusing to leave the sofa so think will delay the walk till later and see if it clears up any. Both of them hate rain so see no reason to force them out in it except for the essentials.

MSE-wise - had a NSD yesterday and hoping for another today - only spending is planned top ups to groceries and since OH is getting those from the allocated budget I think I can still claim NSD ;).

Still working on making savings - am planning to withdraw from a course I am doing - which I hope will get me a refund (haven't done any assessment yet and I think that is the cut off for money back) and will save £75 a month for the next year. I do want to do the course which would give me another potential income stream in the future, but I have been signed up for nearly a year and haven't had time to do it - plus I will be starting a masters equivalent course at work next month which will be pretty intensive (but will also provide potential work opportunities after I finish) - and since that one has deadlines and classes every month - I am much more likely to do it. I can always come back and do the other one if and when I have more time and money. Can't really justify the expense at the moment since I am not getting on with the course.

And I picked up a new local dog client yesterday - my second since we moved - and both via recommendation (as I haven't done any advertising here yet). So that will be an £80 boost to the bank balance on Monday.

Right. To work. If you see me on here before 11.15 shoot me!

Not sure why as I closed things down....

Ah - just checked phone - am logged in there! (How sad is that?)

Mystery solved. Will be off again in 10 mins and hopefully my light will go too! :p

Back on - having a 10 minute break (5 left!).

Work going well now - am focusing and getting down to it. Might be a long night to get it finished but making progress.

Lunch now and some financial planning - then back to it at 1.30.

Still very wet and dogs still tucked up in bed!
  • Master's is very time consuming- i have shelved mine for the moment. The last course irritated me a lot, simply because the tutor would constantly rearrange the timetabled lesson material- so after a week of heavy reading we would turn up and she would shove another lot at us- basically so she could go off and do something else while we were reading..guidance 0 and i said so on the feedback. It did make me realize that i would rather be on a different path, so i am pondering my options.
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Yikes - that sounds awful! Not surprised you have shelved it.

The course I'm going to be doing is a Level 7 ILM Coaching course - M level but not a masters as such. It will be intensive and will require a considerable amount of practice but will I think be less academically challenging than a masters. I have done a previous course (Level 5) with the same tutor and she is fabulous so I am very happy with the course - but I know I won't be able to do something else alongside - and still get the business going. But once I have done this I should be able to add coaching to my business plan which is paid much better than dog training! ;)

Have realised I hadn't included OH's car loan in the total debt figure. :( Previous car was HP and was budgeted as expenditure but this one is a loan. Guess either is debt at the end of the day. Anyway have added it now and the result is very frightening (though it doesn't effect my DFD thankfully as the payments were already in the budget).

So this is the lot (except the mortgage - which I will not include as that would finish me!).

Aargh! Thats really the kind of thing that feels *so* dispiriting, doesn't it ... and yet, everything's the same, its in the budget, but the *figure* is higher. Have a chocolate bar. Or some brazil nuts, or something. You know you want to! I've just had a 2nd cup of coffee (which feels v decadent, as I seem to take it quite strong) :)
