So far getting everything done bar the writing - which was my main plan for the day - doh! Got to pick up the post-op dog then will give it a go for a couple of hours. Need to make progress!

Have just had to pay the vet and I only had my debit card on me so it has gone out of my carefully calculated bank account. Over £500  My own fault. I pulled out a card in case they wanted me to settle the bill so far and meant to take a CC but by habit took my debit. Ah well - means I have to work out how to make sure it is covered so that there is still money for the rent later in the month. Not a disaster as the Plan C fund would cover it and it will come back eventually with insurance - but I don't really want to raid that fund so will see if I can cover it another way first. Have got until the 15th or so!

Gosh - MSE vet bills on diaries are a big reason why I'm scared of having a pet... even without all the care and attention they need. I'm sure he's good company tho. Definitely get the insurance claim posted off... which reminds me I have an insurance claim I need to actually put in the post too if I ever want paying!!

It's why I would never do without insurance for them. Accidents happen so easily and it is then that the bills mount up. The £530 is only the start. There was £105 at the emergency vet - and there will be a bill at my old vet as she needs to go there to have it checked and resplinted next week. Seems like this is going to take about 6 weeks to heal so there'll definitely be more visits here too. Will be surprised if there is much change from £1K when we have finished - all because some selfish idiot decided to throw their rubbish in the undergrowth rather than put it in a bin.

But she's worth it of course. Even if I had to pay it myself I would find a way. Has to be done - she is family at the end of the day!

Will try putting in an initial claim I think.

Writing today - with all the stuff with the dog the report for work is still to finish and Monday is my absolute, final, extended deadline so I need to get down to it. Read through what I have so far yesterday - much better than I thought - it has been such a struggle to write I thought it would be awful but it isn't. So I will keep the last bit fairly tight and to the point and hopefully finish it later today.

Talk later everyone. Hope you are enjoying your weekends.
  • I see someone else who likes to push things to the wire :)

Not sure "like" is quite how I would describe it - but I always do! :o

Pretty much done now. Have written another 1500 words and polished up the other 3500! Final section just needs finishing off but have run out of steam so will do that in the morning. Reckon I have another couple of hours work to do to finish off then proof read it so should have time.

And so to bed. 'Night all.
