Good Morning everyone from a wet and windy Norfolk!
:grouphug: :coffee: and :bdaycake: to everyone who needs one or all.
A quiet day here I think. Out doing kids' activities this morning and then probably a bit of a catch up afternoon. DD is still not 100% so will need to rest. DH is at work, doing overtime, so we may do some baking or play board games or something similar.
I am very behind with my housework, so have decided to have a flylady day on Monday - every hour will be a different flylady day challenge so that hopefully by the time they get home from school/work, I will be a little more on top of things!
Got some cheap local braising steak yesterday so now off to bung it in the slow cooker for a steak and ale casserole

Happy birthday apprentice tycoonmay the day be wonderful for you
Well we finally got the keys to the rented house yeterday and we went up there to start cleaning    OMG
It was utterly rank. Looks like there is rodents in there as well, but theres a blo**dy big hole in the wall ( an uncovered vent I think) above the kitchen cupbaords and we are right near a wood, so I guess its expected.
The dirt. I have never seen the like in my life. i had to use one of those wallpaper scrapers to scrape the dirt and fat off the top of the kitchen cupbards. Weird, we knew it needed a clean, but 6 hours in the kitchen! and we havent even started the oven yet!!
my arms are looking pretty toned thoand OH was v impressed with the odd socks for cleaning skirting boards tip.
WM on here with net curtains in, and Im gonna just browse on here for a bit, eat some cereal, drinik some tea, moan about the weather ( im dreading my fence in the flat coming down ) food wise today, I fear junk is on the menui as everythings packed and we are at the end of the line as weve run down the cupbards. Its cereal or nowt!
Lots of love to all & hugs to anyone who needs emor even wants one :grouphug:

xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

morning
Yep, still windy and wet here too (now there's a surprise)
Broken night's sleep - too many things going on in my head plus baby hamsters who want to run in their wheel with bits of food clattering about in there too
So far I have managed to give the boys their brekkie and park my behind on the PC chair. Have completed a MS job I should have done last night, booked another one and am about to put an order in with ZipVit. Need to trug off to Leyland later to pick up a parcel from the ParcelForce depot, so may pop into the large Tesco's there - have a much bigger range of clothes then Blackburn, if nothing else.
Will have to get my sewing kit out later on. I bought a BNWT Laura Ashley velvet dress off ebay -£11.05!! Fits like a dream except over the shoulders where the straps are a bit long. I mean, how much would that have cost? It's GORGEOUS
Ok, best crack on. :bdaycake: Happy Birthday AT, (((hugs))) to those feeling ill or in pain and have a good saturday.

Ggood morning all,
Happy birthday AP,
Lynzpower - hope it gets sorted soon and then you can start to enjoy it!
DLB - my NEW fence blew down last night and broke (and it was one of those really nice curved panels that OH spent two days coating(!) - I don't really want to see my neighbour either!) Hopefully it can be mended, but dont know what to do about the concrete post that has moved!!
Haven't read yesterdays thread yet, but I see congratulations are to be sent - so congrats to anyone celebrating anything!
I am hoping to tidy this tip of a house today and then do a spot of shopping, popped to Peacocks yesterday with DD1 - bought some fab (cheap) clothes for her and promised to take DD2 today (DD3 likes anything I get for her - isn't it great when thats still the case!) so my bank balance is taking a little battering!
Hope you all have a great weekend, BB xxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Yes, it's very windy here but dry at the moment. I think we might get sleet later. So, don't plan on stepping outside today if I can help it, which is a good thing as I would like DS, DD and I to do some clearing out then we can maybe have an afternoon of playing games, watching dvds, etc. I think today may just be the day to have the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate that we bought in Serendipity in New York last year.
Lynz when XDH and I bought the house I am in now, we had to scrape the living room carpet off the floor with a shovel. The previous occupants had had a fish tank in the room that had broken and leaked all over the floor. It stank to high heaven. It took a lot of effort to get the house clean and hygienic but it was well worth it.
Managed to use bits and pieces from the freezer yesterday for dinner so the next time I do a proper food shop I will be able to buy some bargains for the freezer. I have been very good (well, I think so anyway) when I have been doing food shopping over the last couple of weeks. I have only bought what I absolutely needed and about 90% of the food I have bought has been either reduced or on special offer. I think that this is actually becoming the norm now. I have very few full price things in the trolley now and my bank balance is happier for it.
DD is demanding breakfast now so must go and fire up the frying pan (a Saturday treat). Have a great day everyone."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hello everyone, and hugs to the poorlies and anyone who's feeling less than fantastic
today is the day that I'll tackle my paperwork mountain.... those on the fly-ing for singles thread will know I've been promising to tackle it for weeks... so today's the day!
As a reward this evening I'll dust off my dvd of the Colin Firth / Jennifer Ehle version of Pride and Prejudice, and as ever, enjoy. Oh, how I love that version - couldn't quite get into the film version two years ago - for me, it was at a disadvantage having to compress the story and character development, and anyway, Colin Firth IS Mr D'arcy!!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
