    Good afternoon everyone,

Well, back from town, my arms and legs are aching now but im pleased i didnt spend too much. Took the BM back to Argos, and they refunded me onto one of their gift cards, so i got myself a new stick blender (which i was going to get anyway) and also a laminator, some spare laminating folders and a Bratz doll reduced in the sale for DDs birthday in April - spent 47p!!!! Also bought a Jodi Picoult book half price in Waterstones, and a few bits in M&S (and Tescos) as i had a £2 voucher to use - so for a morning in Plymouth, spent £15.08 - VERY good for me, especially as i seem to have loads of stuff for that money.
Rzl - think Debenhams sale finishes tomorrow, so prob a good time to go in, i didnt buy any undies, but they had loads at really good prices. I dont really need any, but would like some in blue, and they had every colour but blue in my size!!!!
DS was meant to have a friend around today, but when we went to collect him, it turns out he hadnt asked his gran (who he lives with) and had another friend there!!! Luckily, the gran invited DS to stay, so its nice and peaceful here as its just me and DD, shes making me a charm bacelet at the moment!!!
Right, going to have a cuppa i think, and get my paid2clicks done.
Hope everyone has a lovely day
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi again peeps

This morning prepped the window woodwork downstairs (which took for ever) and then put on the primer. It looks very patchy but I am sure (really, really hope!) it will be OK after we rub down in morning. Next coat tomorrow before we go to DGS1 4th birthday party in afternoon. They are going to soft play area at 12.00 but we are opting out of that one as we 'have' to do the painting! Our excuse is that boys been here so much on sleepover we really, really now have to have time to do essentials!

Got annual mortgage statement in post this morning and DH and I pleasantly surprised that we only have 18 months to go! We couldn't quite remember when we finished up. We only pay a paltry sum every month so it is not worth using capital to pay off now. DH also got statement re where he put lump sum when he retired and although we have done windows and bathroom, still loads left! We will have to think about a new boiler and then the kitchen which is really desperate. However, have lived with it so long, a bit longer won't hurt. Want it to be right when we do it as quite a big investment. I would rather pay a wee bit more to get it right. We got a new fridge about 3 years ago (the first ever as we had always used other folks cast offs) in all our married life (35 years). We both hate it! It is not what we want -a really bad buy. When kitchen done we have decided big freezer and a good fridge.

Nipped up to ELC to get a couple of bits for DGS1. We gave him the Tower of Doom for Christmas/Birthday (plus the rest) but have to take a couple of bits over tomorrow. Got Tiger Feet (which look like great fun as his co-ordination not the best - seemingly he has slight dyspraxia), some more scary people for the Tower and Fergus from the Thomas stuff. He has just about everything you could imagine in the Thomas line and we are building up a collection here! Have managed to get some really good buys on e-bay for the Granny and Grandad collection. Last time he was here they had to sleep in the spare bed! He is quite obsessed at times with Thomas but we have been told that is normal with dyspraxia.

Have put away the non iron stuff from airing cupboard. The ironing pile seems rather large! I have had quite a bit of pain with my arthritis this week and the pills not sorting it out. However bought Boots Ibuprofen gel max today and have felt an almost immediate difference.

Having salmon steaks for tea with half price pots and broccoli from Lidls. We were given the salmon so really a cheap meal. I do the salmon in the oven, wrapped in foil, with lemon juice and dods of butter (well, we don't do butter so it will be marg!)

By the way dlb - you wear me out. You are such a busy person and you achieve so much. Would you like to come up here and do my garden? It needs lots of tlc - don't know why I let it get into current state this year!

    Hi Catowen

I love Jodi Picault - got into her in the summer when I was lent a book. I haven't had time to read for weeks but currently trying to get head round The Pact.

A wee aside - re earlier post. No matter where or how I paint (even with DGSs) I get covered in paint and I am not good with gloves! Washed my hands after the windows this morning in Stardrops and, guess what, it came off. Put loads of handcream on after to make sure I didn't get sore but all OK. Must post that on the Stardrops thread too!

My favourite of hers is 'My Sisters Keeper', a very good book, recomend it to everyone - the one i bought today is 'Keeping Faith' saw it as a hardback, but had been waiting for it to come out in paperback, which it is now, and only £3.49 in Waterstones - cheaper than Tescos, which is unusual!!!!

I love Jodie Picoult as well - especially My Sister's Keeper and The Pact.

I saw Keeping Faith in Smiths today for £3.49 as well - but resisted as I'm trying desperately hard to save money at the minute. :o

I've managed to get hold of some of her novels through swaps at www.readitswapit.co.uk so might try my luck on there in a few weeks.
