    Ageandjo - thinking of you.

Fairly peaceful day chez thrift. Am just enjoying a glass of quince vodka before supper. We're having potatoes, peas and ham from the More-With-Less book and choc fudge pud for afters (yum).

Made a lovely soup with butternut squash and half a jar of roast peppers. Used the ham stock from a joint I cooked last week, made all the difference.

    Happy birthday apprentice tycoon.
I also love jodi picoult books-bought 1 by accident! (tenth circle) and couldn't put it down! have looked everywhere for "my sisters keeper" but no-1 seems to have it round here!
Lynzpower- my house was disgusting when I first got it-We had to use the heated wallpaer strimmer to get rid of the fat and grease on the benches and walls:eek: then when we took (all 5!) layers of wallpaper off. creachers (which I think were fleas!) were jumping out of the walls! uuhhh (*shudder*)
It's still looks scruffy now but it's 100% better-all the perservering is worth it in the end!

    Hi to everyone above!
My youngest DD had 2 parties today, the first of which was in the city centre so a good excuse to look for more bargains in the sale! I did really well in Boots with the spend £5 and get a £5 no.7 voucher/£3 haircare voucher. I managed to get 3 of these vouchers and I picked up 3 no.7 gift make-up bags (with make-up inside) and 3 posh bottles of shampoo for a grand total of £7.47! :j
My best bargain was a lovely leather jacket in Principles which was reduced from £150 to £45, even DH was impressed.:D
Apart from taking my DD to both of her parties I've had quite a lazy day. DH and eldest DD are visiting MIL and tea was left overs (noodles and ribs) from last night's chippy tea.
Have a good evening everyone.

  • Hi Busygirl

You certainly bagged a few bargains today, you going to keep those cosmetics in a gift cupboard for birthday, christmas, mother's day etc.

I hope M&S do another good deal at the end of the month for Chinese New Year, as they did last year. Buy 2 products and get a Chinese dinner set for two free. It included egg fried rice which was 70p at the so for £1.40 I brought alot of rice (which you could freeze) and quite a few presents.
