Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

I can't find any such requirement (after a cursory glance) in the code that replaced it, the Lending Standards Code.
However, I assume you'll be billing Santander (via formal complaint) if you miss out on the £200?0 -

I don't know about that, I've left it with "someone" to investigate for me on Monday, with a promised 'phone call. I guess if they say they've only been supplied with one standing order, then the co-op will have to ask N'wide again. I've not had this happen to me before when "switching" accounts for the incentive cashback. I'll be pretty p****d off if I lose out on the £200 whoever is responsible for either not giving or requesting correct info.0 -
I have to say from my experience of the co-op bank, they couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery, and I certainly would never use them for my proper account.0

Just a quick note -- if you're a Smile customer you are already registered for internet banking with the Cooperative bank. You can log on to the Cooperative bank's online banking with your new co-op sort code / account number and existing Smile security details.
Might save someone some time. I just wasted 5 mins phoning to setup internet banking ("but your security questions have already been set up...") until I twigged that my Smile security details had automatically been used.0 -
I "switched" to the Co-op when they ran one of these campaigns back in 2008 and offered £100 to new customers. I never used the account apart from depositing and withdrawing £800/month for the first few months to obtain the incentive.
I was delighted to see that this new offer was open to existing, as well as new customers.
However, since I became a homeowner I all but deserted these boards in favour of the mortgage ones and was therefore not up-to-date on the latest goings-on.
I found out about this last Thursday so rang customer services sharpish who confirmed I'd need to switch in-branch. They pointed out that it was worth me contacting the branch as they may need me to make an appointment to switch.
That I did, and got an appointment for 9am today. I never get up before 9am on a Saturday, but I will for £200!
Had my appointment, all seemed to go OK. They've got my mobile number so I look forward to receiving text updates re the switching process.
One thing the lady did say that my cue to switch my salary across would be when they send me confirmation of my "transfer date" - just in case anyone is still wondering when the first £800 is meant to hit your account.
I also told her I had two SOs and no DDs on the account I am switching from and she didn't bat an eyelid - she said that was absolutely fine.
Good luck all. If I have anything of note to report I will post it in this thread!

It does seem that it is so much easier to have done this in-branch rather than online. For all the accounts I have opened this year, there has been confusion with different online security vs telephone details and so on. I am now remembering account details for 4 current and one credit card account, as I keep a daily (yes, I know, that's excessive) check on my accounts and update my spreadsheet. The good news, however, is that whilst I can remember all these details, I reckon I'm not suffering from too much old-age forgetfulness!0

Can anyone tell me if the £200 offer is still on by calling in the branch tomorrow (31st) ? thanks0

Going by this thread, yes. You'll need to open and switch before leaving.0

I'm quite concerned now, regards this £800.00 sat in my account.
I mean, what's to stop a disgruntled CO-OP (possibly x) employee logging in to my account and clearing it out?0
