Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

Nationwide requires me to enter a 10 digit customer number plus 8 digits generated by a card reader. They used to do as you say however. I don't find this a problem at all. In fact, I quite like it.
Co-op login/security seems very poor. I was even told by a customer service advisor "Don't write these details down as if anyone finds them, they can clear out your account!". Well, let us use something that we use everyday then, like our debit card, to login, then we won't have to write it down, but don't expect us to remember 7 different pieces of information for 1 bank!
Once I got my £200, I don't think I'll be using the account again. This can't be true. Assuming you mean 31st of October, then the offer only started 17 October, and the switch takes four weeks. It's simply not possible.
The switching APPLICATION must be complete and received by co-op by that date, not the switch itself0 -

Do you have a reliable source for this?
The terms and conditions say 14 days after your account has been opened, not by the 31st of October (see post 303 for T&Cs).You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Only a phone call which wasn't recorded, unfortunately.
But considering the bad information I've had from customer services so far, I wouldn't call it reliable.
We'll just have to wait and see.0 -
I was going to wait until I got my debit card so that I could register for online banking and do the switch online (they told me I couldn't register for online banking without my debit card). The last thing I received in the post was the "subject to a few formalities, your account has been opened" letter.
But I'm getting a bit worried by this talk of the 31st (despite it being contrary to the Ts&Cs), so I think I'll send the switching form off in the post. You're spelling is effecting me so much. To be eligible for the £200 payment.
Those that applied online between 17th and 24th October have 14 days from account opening to complete the switching application form.
Those that applied in branch have to complete the switching request at the same time as account application.
The offer will withdrawn completely on 31st Oct.0 -
I got an e-mail to say my application had been received, and today I got a chequebook in the post, but no letter with details of my account, sort code, number etc or details of how to switch! Do you think I will be able to switch in time?!
My sister already banks with them and applied online, but today got a letter saying: "The offer of £200 for switching your main account to us is open to existing customers. However, I'm afraid Cashminder accounts are not included in this promotion." What has she done wrong?! Seems a bit unfair.0 -

You dont need the debit card to register for online banking.
You also do not have to log in to complete the switching form all you need is your sort code and account number.

You need your sort code and account number to switch.
You will find them printed on each cheque.
Switching form is online here

Just to let nzseries1 know that I registered for online banking yesterday over the phone and I haven't yet received my debit card. All they wanted to know was my account number and sort code to set up the online banking.
I thought I'd transfer the money today so did a £100 test transfer from my Barclays account which appeared five minutes later in the Co-op account so then tried to transfer £1000 from Barclays (to cover the £800 plus the standing orders due to come out on 1st November) and Barclays said they couldn't do it without further checks and it would have to wait till Monday to be transferred. Now glad I didn't leave it until Monday!0 -
Its all a bit random isnt it. I registered online, got a welcome pack on Monday which seemed to suggest I do nothing but wait for them to send my bits and pieces then today I get an email saying unless I complete the switching form on line I shant get my £200. So Ive now done that, but it all does seem a bit haphazard with people getting different messages/procedures.0
