Why all the fuss, and why so little patience?

For God's sake - there's more silly fuss going on in here than in HUKD!!!

Be patient and wait - is it really a matter of life and death to so many people? :)

cos we want our £200 now!!! :rotfl: ... and move on to the next freebie!

How easy it to get an account with First Direct? I heard it is much harder than with other banks.

Nope, it's very easy. I've just opened an account with them, havign seen the recent £125 incentive deal. I'm planning on staying with them too.
    C'mon you Canaries!!
  • I was with First Direct for 15 years, and changed to Co-op due to their sneaky overdraft charges, so be warned...
I'm off to New York next week, so was planning on spending my £200 there :)

    Sneaky charges? What happened?

Despite having had an arranged overdraft of £750 for years (on top of the standard £250), they started charging £20 if you use it more than once in a certain time period (3 or 6 months?), on top of annual £20 arrangement fee.

    Sneaky :(

They are now telling me it'll be by mid-march as that's 4 months after the completion of the switch.

I've just got off the phone now to them and they confirmed the same thing. The girl I spoke to had a chat with the switching team and the money will be paid in the fourth month which as my switch date was 16/11 will be mid March.

Reading the T&C I took it as two possibilities as the fourth calendar month following completion is sometime in Feb. But looking at it according to my statement dates which run 16th to 15th it could mean the mid March.

It would have been nice if there was some sort of order or consistency to it as some on here have got it earlier than others. As others have said, sit tight as it could be a couple more weeks.

and their lays the "perceived" problem with these "switching incentives".

i dont suppose for one second that many companies offering these type of offers expect 100's of people to be on a web forum monitoring when each gets their "bonus".

so from co op's perspective they probably are doing them in "some sort order or consistency", its just that we know differently from users here.

i also suspect the rush of phone calls to co op about the payment only started after the 1st few people posted here saying they had their bonus.
