OK, so you've over spent but on food. How long can you make this last, could this be your next challenge? The money saved on not shopping, cos you've got loads can be used for the debt.

Have you thought about what triggered this spend? Do you need to have your cupboards full to bursting to feel ok? I know I do! Be kind to yourself.

Ahh lucielle - what a lovely post :A

And you are right, I need to make this my challenge and start meal planning and organising myself so I don't have to spend anything much on grocery shopping for a long time (very long time) There is definitely something comforting about having ny cupboards full, I don't know what it is??? And I wish I could supress it. smiley-gen046.gif

I am just so mad at myself at the moment, I was doing so well and feeling in control and I've lost it. smiley-angry046.gif but........if I can do it once..........

    Thank you x x

Stop beating yourself up. You've planned ahead and bought food, so that you can meal plan and save yourself from going to the supermarket and splurging again. Now stop being mad and make that plan!

Can you have a splurge next time by shopping on line, buying EVERYTHING you want and then deleting the order, or leave it for a while before you hit submit?

    Morning Missus Freeby....

Lucille is right (which she knows, but it's nice to be reminded)... stop bashing yourself over the head.

Just think about how quickly you realised you needed a rethink - how far you've come that you 'came to' so quickly, and feel that rather than just declare a 'burger it all' situation and go mad, you've immediately turned towards the 'ok, draw a line and start again' solution. I, for one, am really impressed. :T

Plus *ahem* you've made me look over my recent habits and it's clear I lost the plot and backflipped off the wagon some weeks ago. My name is Nora, and I haven't checked my bank account in weeks...:o

So, how about a do-over together?

    Nora.x
  • Hi freeby. Just rein it in and thank our lucky stars that everything is paid and you know how to stop this. We all fall off the wagon and I'm sure everyone is the same and likes their cupboards full to bursting. I have 2 freezers that I like to be full to bursting . As knitting Nora says stop beating yourself up and use your knowledge to turn things around x

Thank you to you all. :A

While I am still very annoyed with myself I'll just have to put it down to a lesson learned :o

I have been to the gym, had my shower and now about to tackle listing everything that is in my cupboards and making some meal plans that will probably do me until this time next month :o

Thank you all for your support :)

Missus knitty - climb up here on this ole wagon, there is a space right beside me :D

Freeby, you have plenty of food and all the bills are paid - that's actually so far ahead of many folk. Don't beat yourself up, just pick yourself up and get that wagon back on the road! (hug)

When you said you'd fallen off the wagon I was waiting to hear about clothes, shoes, jewellery, any other unnecessaries (ooh, that sounds rude to my 16yr old brain!!!). You overspent on food!!! While I get that the word "overspent" is in there, you actually used that blowout on things that are necessary and will help you with some more NSD's over the next few weeks while you eat your way through that lot.

Or, if having empty cupboards is a niggle for you then keep them full and you just have to top up now when stocks are used. Whatever works for you. But, you're always so perfect at this money saving and savvy stuff that seeing that you're human too is probably very inspirational for all of us reading about your progress. I bought a ring a few weeks ago - a ring I've still yet to wear, purely because it was glisteny and sparkly (and someone had told it my name to keep shouting at me)!! I probably spent the same amount on that ring as you did on feeding your family! :o:o:o

So, if the perfect Freeby can fall off and have a little splurge and yet still get back on track, then there's hope for people like me out here trying to keep up with the Fifty's :D

You're an inspiration, and these little setbacks keep you as a human inspiration! xx

You are all so lovely :A

Thank you for the support and all the nice things you have said. It really means a lot to me *blushes*

Muffy - I am NOT by any manner or means perfect but I am very happy and proud that you called me an inspiration :) Thank you. x x x

Well, it is 2.20pm and I have not spent a single penny so far today :T I even turned down lunch in the local garden centre because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist the lovely things for my garden and I have given a lift to MIL to Mr T and back and resisted all the lovely things for my over flowing cupboards in there too :)

I know it's not practical to keep refusing to do things but I need, for the moment, to make a conscious effort on my spending and my spendy places.

Thank you all very much, I'm glad I came back here and confessed all. :A

I've been cleaning and thinking ..... what is it about cleaning that makes me think too much. My BF says she does all her thinking when she's at the gym but to be honest I am to busy wondering if I'll survive long enough to get out of the place to do any thinking.

    I digress

I've been cleaning and thinking and something Muffy wrote stuck a chord with me. I have not gone out and splurged all my money on clothes and jewelery and unnecessary stuff but I do have way too much food for 3 people. I can't remember the last time I bought myself something to wear or something frivolous and am quite disciplined in that respect so why do I feel the need to stuff my fridge (and cupboards) full and end up wasting food????

Answers on a postcard please because I burgered if I know :o
