Nothing wrong with obsessing! Although I would say DO IT! when it comes to paying off that card, but then again I am pretty impulsive haha
If you've worked out you can manage it though, that'll be one debt off your mind forever more and you can switch to obsessing about the next one!
I'd go for showering after, at least if you can meet anyone you can blame chasing dogs for being hot and bothered rather than a lack of showering....Savings target: £25000/£25000

Brush teeth before, and shower after....
If the F/mans bill is making your head circle around it a lot, then pay it off and be done with it...if not, then put the final amount aside somewhere and ignore it until next payday. That way it's there if you need it for something unforseen (santa breaking the front door down....) but if you don't, then you can hurl it at f/mans on payday and make a parallel payment to the next debt - double debt busting on the same day!0 -
You are all so clever. I think I have thought about it too much and now I have gone into melt down
It never pays to think too much.
I did both - had a shower before and after, I'm so clean I squeak :rotfl:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
......reports back from garage.....£600:eek:
the thing is.........
had car checked re. postie damage - cost of new number plate only - he will pay for that:cool:
my car is only 3 months old
first ever new car, very good deal purchased with a car-sized overdraft that only costs £10 a month in interest;)
hence the reason why i need to get the car done properly by an authorised repairer. actually, they were very good/helpful and assumed i am not going to claim on insurance as they and friends say that for the sake of the £250 i will get from insurer (xs is £350) the insurer will probably get that and more back from me.
i will ring them tomorrow to see what kind of effect it may have, as i always switch for the best deal each year. any thoughts from you guys?
i am really annoyed and upset as that money would have gone to pay off the car/overdraft - it seems like i'm throwing money away, even tho i have no choice:(. am buying a less-new car next time....0 -
Firesidemaid - How carp! Wouldn't you just love to get your hands on the *insert bad sweary word here* that keyed your car.
If you can possibly afford to repair the car without involving your insurance company then I would. I had a little (and I do mean little) bump about a year ago and the other party claimed on my insurance and now I have lost my no claims (didn't protect it) and my premium nearly doubled.
Now I'm back to rebuilding my no claims and paying over the odds for my insurance.
I'm sorry I can't help much more. I could assemble a posse and hunt the terror down if required though :rotfl:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
*bounds in* We forming a posse?! Count me in.

Oh I do love a volunteer

Missus Knitty, you can be in charge of 'covert operations'
Not sure what that means but it sounds like an ace job :rotfl:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Hasn't Jack Frost been busy?? He must have been up all night getting the world as sparkly and white as it is this morning. It's lovely to look out at but I am very glad I am not going anywhere until later today

The Christmas decs will go up today. I can't put it off any longer. The poor kids think that Christmas has been cancelled (which might be a very good idea) so today we will dec the halls with (fake) boughs of holly whilst listening to Christmas tunes and eating warm mince pies - well that'll only be me as the kids don't like them but any excuse
I shall make a valiant attempt to get into the Christmas spirit (sadly not the vodka though).
I have spent this morning having a look at mystery shopping. Not sure it is for me though. Remembering this, photographing that. I just want to wander in, buy something and wander back out again. It's a mystery to me how the shop doesn't spot you straight away, loitering in aisles, taking covert photographs, demanding to know their name (if no name badge) and trying to operate a stopwatch in your pocket (which could look extremely dodgy - all that fiddling
)
Having said all that, I have signed up with two companies but I'm not sure if I will go any further than that  Does anyone who reads all my witterings do it?? Do you have any tips?? Like how to operate a stop watch in your pocket without getting arrested
I have refused to open my spreadsheet this morning. It is Sunday and nothing has changed since yesterday so no need to spend several hours pouring over numbers and going cross eyed. There will be much eye crossing tomorrow when things start to move in
and out
again.
Have a great day everyone and stay warm x xFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Covert ops? Cool - I could tell you what it meant, but then I'd have to kill you....and we'd all miss your diary, and I'd get in trouble with the penny prison guards, and I wouldn't be very covert any more.....so you see, it's better all round that you don't know.

Thanks Freeby for that helpful info re. your insurance claim. I think i am just going to have to stump up the money and move on.......
Have a great day with DDs putting up your christmas tree:).
I might have overdone the mince pies already this season - its like i have to get in as many as possible during the short period whilst they are around!
As for Mystery Shopping...i tried it a couple of times and found it quite hard work for the money - but then it was the covert ops type;) i had to recruit OH out to help lol! But, others seem to love it. A friend does a lot of the home delivery ones, so it's all in the comfort of his own home. Seem to be better value where you get paid plus get a meal or some free shopping as well.:D There is a whole thread on the subject - i expect you have seen it.
Have a good day all x0
