Thank you everyone for your messages.
I have had lovely little glow on all day. Who knew payday could make someone feel so good. If this is how it feels to get started on my debt busting, I can't wait until I am debt free :) I think there will definitely be a virtual party that day (BYOB of course :))

Hello, how are we all today :)

I am looking forward to a lovely long weekend off work.:) I have nothing much planned but I suppose I should wrap the presents and put the tree up at some point. I am starting to feel a little bit Christmassy :xmassmile I feel better about Christmas this year than I have for a long long time but when I look back I didn't know I was feeling down about it (IYSWIM). This year I feel (beware cliche coming up) lighter/not so burdened/dreading January statements :o
I can't believe that I have paid for Christmas without adding to my debt

I am going to get the weekly shop today and have my meal plan and list all prepared. I actually need very little as I plan on us eating very simply before the excesses of next weekend  I just need to convince the kids this is a good idea

I made a PAD to F/mans this morning - another £2 off the debt :T Not much, but who cares? It's two pounds (or 200 pennies) less than I owed yesterday and hopefully a little less interest at statement time :) I won't be making any payments to them over the weekend but will be on Monday when money goes in and out of my account and I will PAD again to make my bank account look pretty with nice round figures.

I can't help feeling than everything is going a little too well at the moment, I really really hope there is nothing in the stars for me that's gonna come crashing down and spoil my lovely DFW plans. The God's of Fate may just be hatching a plan  Will just have to enjoy this feeling for as long as it lasts and square my shoulders for a up and down future.

The main thing to remember is that it's rarely about what happens, but how we cope with it.

Seems to me that you're really cracking this MSE take on life, so even if something did happen, you're already well equipped with your new skillset to tackle any problem in a more practical way than you might've done before. See how fab you are?!

  • Weekly shopping mission has been completed.

    £15.90 :):):)

But Mr T makes me mad  All this talk about price drop but they don't mention all the things that have risen in price, do they???
Just an example I noticed today - dog biscuits (treat ones) were 90p two weeks ago and not on offer or anything, today £1.31!!!!!!!:mad: I didn't buy them, just as a little mini protest, but I doubt they'll notice. I shall search for cheaper biscuits in the £1 shop or somewhere.
Also I saved 3p (yes a whole 3p) by swapping a non bashed tin of beans for a bashed tin of beans in car crash corner :) Better 3p in my pocket than in Mr T's!!!!!

Oh that's awful! Poor you - just what you don't need at the least fraught of times, let alone Christmas.

Freeby, you are saying exactly what I was thinking about an hour ago! Two of our staples, tinned ratatoille and cheap tinned tomatoes, have gone silently up by 20p and 5p respectively in the last couple of weeks.

It probably adds £13 to our annual food bill just over two items.

Funny how they don't mention that in Tesco promotions,.isn't it?

I really must stop obsessing over my spreadsheets :o
I've been up since stupid o' clock again and have spent about an hour changing and estimating and then changing back again. And there is nothing I can do about it - what will be will be. Who knows what the rest of the month holds?????
I have £444 budgeted for the rest of the month for shopping and diesel and the usual bits and bobs, which works out at £111 per week. I have £51 cash in my purse for the little spends through the week and I am estimating that will last me 3 weeks, so what on earth am I stressing about???? I have plenty and all my bills will be paid. :T
I have done so many permutations (is that the right word) of how to get F/mans paid quicker I've gone wobbly eyed :) when in actual fact I could pay them off in one hit now (thanks to my back pay) and still be okay. So why don't I?? I don't know!!! I think I am addicted to obsessing :rotfl:

Not going anywhere today or spending anything. I have dogs to walk, housework to do and christmas to wrap. Believe it or not I am actually considering whether it is time to get the Christmas tree up or not :( It all looks very nice for a while and then the room starts to look cluttered and untidy and it begins to get on my nerves - usually about three days after I've put it up :o so I'm putting it off for as long as I can :o

Now for the big question, do I shower now before I go for a walk incase I meet anyone I know (wouldn't want to scare them half to death) or after, when I'm all hot and bothered after trying to contol two labradors chasing rabbits (other woodland creatures are not safe either).
    Decisions, decisions :rotfl:
