I'm a happy little (if you don't look at me side on) Freeby. :)

DD1's ipod touch went on the blink. One phone call to Apple later, one parcel posted on Monday and today...... a brand spanking new ipod touch.

I also have a happy nearly mini Freeby. :T

There was only 14 days left of the warranty too :)

    Woop-de-woop.

Just had a letter from my work confirming my new Higher Paid Duties banding backdated to 1st July :j

Rang my boss who said I should receive it in my December pay (14 days to go). I'm not holding my breath though.......I know what our payroll dept are like, but at least I have it in black and white. :T

It's only temporary until they can write me a new job description and go to job evaluation and then make it permanent but at least I'm now getting paid for what I actually do :)

    And it's only about £50 - £60 a month.......but that's 5000 - 6000 pennies!!!!!!!!!

No - but we'll know one another by the way we clutch our purses with both hands to hold them closed....which also answers the question of why no handshake. :D

Good Morning, it's a bit chilly this morning. Actually what I really mean involves a lot of swearing and the word Baltic but you get what I mean :D

Went late night Christmas shopping last night with my girlies :( It could have been worse :) but it could have been better :(

Spent £13 on prezzies and £33 getting DD2 some new clothes. I had to. I was fed up of seeing her going about with half mast jeans on. She is growing like a weed at the moment and her clothes are only lasting her a couple of months. I've threatened to chop her off at the ankles or put a big book on her head to push her down a bit but she doesn't listen and just keeps sprouting :(
So £46 spent, which considering all those bright shiny lights, festive music and so called bargains (according to my children) that's not too bad. And, I say as I desperately try to convince myself, I needed everything I bought.

Off to Mr A today to get the weekly shop. So that's more money :(

I'm not sure why I'm a bit down this morning. I have money in the bank, I have £300 coming to me (still not there this morning ) and I'm still on track with my budget. What's up with me today?

    Answers on a postcard please?

  • Will you take an answer in a post instead?

Sometimes we just feel a little blue. It helps you differentiate between the degrees of good times and not so good times, so don't fret.

And stop feeling bad about the shopping trip - that's a tiny amount to spend on what were necessary items.

I wonder whether a side effect of going all gungho on the MSE side is that it's a bit like a pendulum - when we start out it's all massively positive and big actions, but as we settle into the flow of imprisoning our pennies, the pendulum swings the other way and so we feel guilty about spending anything at all. Perhaps that's it - we'll know we've really arrived as seasoned MSE-ers when the pendulum is in the middle and we can strike a good balance between stopping automatic spending, and no longer feeling awful just because we've spent a little.

Anyway, as I say, don't fret - just have a cuppa, breathe deep and smile. Believe it or not, your mind will catch up with the smile - it's true!
    :coffee: :)
