Don't worry about Santander sometimes you will find random letters like so offering financial advice none of them really mean anything they just like to show willing when your paying them. No point feeling scared negative wealth didn't appear overnight nor will it disappear overnight. The best thing I did was set up direct debit and pay stop looking at statements each month because the intrest upset me now it's ok I can happily look but when your first starting out it can make you feel very upset. Onwards and downwards I say :-) xxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Already?? No wonder you suggest a race! Most impressive...:T Clearly I shall have to shake a leg (and bolt down my purse!) to keep up!!freebyfifty wrote: »Another NSD yesterdayI was a little perturbed at this letter, I thought I was doing well keeping up with the minimum payments recently and paying them on time and being below my credit limit. It's a darn sight better than three months ago. So why are they writing to me? Are they going to start demanding I pay more? Santander is not on the top of my "to do" list. I think I will just keep paying them what they ask for each month and see what happens but, yet again, I've had the life frightened out of me by a blimmin' debt
So grateful I've had my LBM and it's still burning brightly.
Don't fret on it. As Happy says, these are standard - I get similar from HSBC. In fact there's an entire paragraph on their credit and debit account statements saying something similar whether you're in credit, paying or overpaying.
Of course, it's easy for me to say - so turn it on it's head. Yes it's nice of them to offer, but you are so in control these days that you actually don't need their help. Try not to let them be in control of your emotional wellbeing...or in my native Essex...sod 'em!It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm taking the day off work. It should be made illegal to work on your birthday. If I ruled the world.........that would be top of my list
Freeby for Chief lady over-ruler!!:p

:j This morning I checked my Tesco vouchers and I have £10 unspent from 2010!!!!!!!! :j
Needless to say I have spent all morning on the website trying to decide what I am going to spend them on instead of working. :rotfl:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
And what, prey tell, are you going to do with them?0

I don't know Knitty
I spent ages looking and didn't find anything I wanted to spend them on.
Isn't that always the way...when you have no money to spend you want everything and when you have there's nothing you want?!

Then ignore them once again. No harm, and they'll be there when you do find something you want to use them for.
Few months ago I discovered £61 of unused Tesco clubcard vouchers dating back to 2009 - left them there because I had the same problem. But in the end, they paid for all the food and some of the booze for a hen weekend held at mine...no way I could have pulled off the weekend without them, so I'm really glad I waited.0 -
Well done on being cool, calm and in control.:T
Tesco are doing doing the Christmas exchange where the clubcard point are worth double if you trade them in for certain products. I'm off to investigate:DDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
Good Morning, I couldn't sleep so now I am up at stupid o' clock and on here - I am obsessed!!
Checked bank account and updated my spreadsheet
No-one has put in a "Happy Birthday, here's a thousand quid bonus" so I'll just have to keep plodding on for another year
On the plus side I have £10 winging it's way towards me for Amazon for doing surveys, a tidy little sum in paypal from ebay sales, cash in my Quidco account (only about 40p - but it's still 40p), tesco vouchers to double up and one of my books has sold on Amazon. It's amazing what extra bits and bobs I've managed to save up over the last month really. It's all going towards the dreaded C word.
Speaking of Christmas, I will finish paying L/Woods on Monday and have a ZERO balance. I opened that account for Christmas last year, so basically I have spent all of this year paying for last Christmas  That's truly shocking  and it's not all, I still have £170 outstanding on a F/Mans account which was last year too.
I look back now and think "What was I DOING" I am still paying for Christmas presents and I can't even remember what they were!!!!!!!
Never, ever, ever again. I will get through this year without catalogues or credit cards even if the kids only have an orange and selection box in their stocking!!!!
Managed to have another NSD yesterday - 3 in a row
Can I make it 4??????? I'm off work today and just planning a lazy day around the house until I go out for a meal with my lovely family tonight so it's highly possible :T
Is it sad that because I am off today I am thinking about the diesel I'm saving as I'm not using the car? I'll get another day out of the fuel I put in on Monday - like I said "OBSESSED"
Being as I'm off I'll probably be hanging around here a bit today so I apologise in advance if I begin to get on your nerves

Told you I'd be back

I wanted to say I have fabulous children.
They have clubbed together and bought me a Nominations bracelet for my birthday with a heart charm on it. :j
I LOVE it and the fact they chose it and bought it and thought about me makes it priceless to me.
Gotta be honest, I had a little cry
