Monday again!! I get the feeling my life is flashing before my very eyes.

My list of things to do today -

    Check online banking
    Update spreadsheet
    Post ebay parcel
    Get fuel
    Try not to crack up.

I woke this morning tired :( It's ages since that happened. I looked around the house and though what exactly have I done this weekend? And the answer came back...........not a blimmin' lot. I feel like I never stopped and have nothing to show for it apart from a painted ceiling! And now it's Monday and back to work and it starts all over again. :( For the first time in about 5 years I am tempted to throw a sicky (I won't but I'm tempted)

I've checked my bank account, made a cc payment (early) and updated my spreadsheet. It's still looking okay and I won't be incurring any charges this month on anything so all is good - well not good exactly but much better than 2 or 3 months ago, I have money in my pay pal account to get some Christmas bits and I have cupboards, fridge and freezer full of food...........why therefore am I down today?????? :(

I must pull myself together and give myself a shake. Down days are all part of the journey I suppose. I know me - I'll feel better tomorrow :)

Okay - so already I feel better.

DD's are up, dressed and eating warm croissants straight from the oven.
The house is as tidy as it's ever gonna be considering the bathroom consists of a toilet and a shower tray!!!! (please please please come today Mr Plumber) Why is it, when one room is upside down it has a knock on effect to the rest of the house?
Packed lunches are all made for the three of us and whilst we are not exactly raring to go we are ready for the day ahead............bring it on :)

I have been in the house 15 years and thought the same, it served it's purpose so why change it? However last month it began to leak and decided it would attempt to escape through my kitchen ceiling  so it had to be changed!!! Insurance payout which I will probably suffer for with higher premiums for the rest of my natural :(

We had the same colour suit when we moved here, but broke the basin while doing DIY and claimed on insurance. It was no longer available (even then - probably 10 or 12 years ago) so we had to get costings from a reclamation yard, which for the basin alone came to something over £200. We took the money and bought a whole basic white suite which is still doing us proud and isn't going to date for a while (I hope).

I don't know how long the excess on the insurance lasts but it was worth it in our case! :D

Good morning dear diary and dear DFW's.

Yesterday was a day I I'd rather forget for all sorts of different reasons. Bathroom is not finished :( I will not say any more other than it sent me very close to the 'I'm about to throw myself in the river' edge. :(

Never mind, that was yesterday and I need to concentrate on today. "Just take one day at a time freebyfifty and you will get there." **repeats in head and not out loud - you get many strange looks when you do that**

I bought fuel yesterday - £30.01!!!! Blimmin' penny. I actually stopped it at £29.99 but thought I'd try to be clever and make that nice round firgure of £30 but it didn't even hit it, just missed it altogether. That 2p of fuel will make no difference to how far I get and would have been better in my bank account - every penny's a prisoner!!!!

I've checked my bank account and updated my spreadsheet :(
Half way between last payday and next payday and nearly everything has been paid. Just 3 more dd's to come out and it is all shaping up to be..............no different than last month. BUT I have to look on the bright side and say that at least I have lived within my means, I have paid all dd's and cc's on time and the amount they wanted, I will incur no charges on anything :) This is a major step forward for me from 2/3 months ago so I shall smile and give myself a little mini pat on the back. :)

Don't you just hate it when that happens? But it won't derail you. :)

And this is HUGE! Give yourself a BIG pat on the back as this is the key to turning around the juggernaut. Once you are in the habit of living within your means, you can start to shave a little here and a little there, and make a bit extra along the way. Then suddenly those debt numbers start to tumble. :T

  • Morning!

I'm with Mizmir - you've done brilliantly so far, and nothing is the same as last month. You are constantly moving forward - sometimes it'll just be a step, sometimes a leap (and *ahem* sometimes a trip....:)), but it's all in the right direction.
...."just keep swimming, just keep swimming" :)

I'm known for humming and dancing to this around my office....stuff 'em if they can't take a joke, and sometimes I need the reminder!

    Take care *hugs*

What Mizmir says... this is really significant. You've stopped the monster in its tracks and now you're in the process of taming it and making it work for you. A long haul, but you're in charge now.
