Unpaid work trial day?

no it says to work the day
Do you really think that the company is trying to get a free day's work out of you? They need to show you how things work there and check you understand what you are doing. Very few people do much useful work on the first day.
The reality is that your attitude problem has come across on this forum - this has already been commented to you. What you need to do if you want the job is turn up and not show any attitude at all. If in doubt, don't open your mouth.0 -
I`m not sure the whole JSA discussion is completely relevant. I've got a bit lost here - did you not incur costs going to the original interview? Who paid those? I don't think it is different. You could of course quite reasonably ask the employer if they will cover your travel costs. This is standard practice in some sectors even for interviews, so it isn't unreasonable to ask for a "trial day" when you aren't getting paid.0

Exactly - it's an extended interview. It looks like this is the furthest the OP has got in 67 weeks is it? And they are quibbling over this for the sake of £10.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I borrowed it of my mum who is an OAP then to pay her back I used a credit card to buy food as a swap for the money leant to me.

you have never worked where I have then as at my last job I was thrown in at the deep end with the accounts and was doing a £1million payment run on the 3rd day
IF my attitude is so bad and I know it's not then there is no point going like I have already said so no more comments on it thanks0 -
no its not the furthest I have got at all. Got turned down at one job as was over qualified after attending the interview they said the job wasn't big enough for me
Forgive me, but you said you had already had the interview for this; thus in this job you have got further than interview as a work trial is further along the line than an initial interview. Hence it's the furthest you have got in 67 weeks as you have only had 3 [is it?] interviews in all that time.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I was puzzling over how anyone who works in accounts would not know that a budget for a new recruit would have been set weeks if not months before the recruitment process starts, so they will know exactly how much they will be willing to pay you as salary. You're nuts to have not asked for a ball-park figure by this stage.
And I'm sorry that you find it offensive rather than taking as constructive criticism, but your posts are quite aggressive and bullish. Seeing as you mentioned they want to see if you fit in with the team, I would have thought you would have at least taken the comments as constructive and used that knowledge to be conscious of how people perceive you. You’d have a much better chance of fitting in if you are aware of potential problems and can side-step them. You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -

This stage? It wasn't a job offer only the 2nd interview. If I was interviewing at my last job & someone asked the salary in an interview they would not get a call back. I have been told never to ask as it gives the wrong impression. All the questions I asked were work related, not salary.
Potential problems? You all talk as if I have never had a job and that's not true, but still nevermind0 -
OP, you do come across as someone who must always have the last word. I think I'd find working alongside you very wearing, very quickly."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
