Lol, far better one day which CAN lead to a job, than 6 months unpaid full time work experience instigated by the Job Centre with absolutely no possibility of a job at the end of it.

A work trial is a great thing. Not only can they check you out, and make sure you actually have a clue/your cv is not all bull - but you also get to check them out and may just decide 'hell, no - this place is awful'.
