I can't see any attitude in your first post.. but
1 - they wont get £100's worth of work out of you as you'll be new and not exactly 'working'. So they might get a tenners worth out of you.
2 - if i wanted the job and it wasn't going to cost too much to do (ie travel) then I'd go.
I've done a working interview before but it was only half a day; i got the second half of the day after the other person had done everything and left me nothing. I actually got up and walked off because the agency had lied about the rate just to get me to do the interview.0 -
Personally, I would jump at the chance! Yes, they can tell from your references that you 'can' do the job (or you wouldn't have got this far in the interview process) but that's a telling remark "how well I interact with the team."..You AND the other person might have a similar skill level and experience in doing the job, but they will be looking at which one of you works well with the team they already have.
An unpaid day with a 50/50 chance of it leading to a decent job? It's a no brainer to me.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
OP, from your posting history it looks as if you could start a fight in an empty room.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

No they said they want to see me do the job and there is no one currently doing it.
Will cost me £10 to get there and back
thanks for all the replies, wish I never asked and prob with my bad attitude I wont get it anyway after 2 interviews and a trial day but still.0 -
if you are not working now - do the day, nothing ventured nothing gained. you dont know if they have two candidates, or one, and they just want to see you in action as it were.
If you are working now, I might feel differently about it.
(speaking as a hotelier here)
EDIT: £10 is small change when compared to a job paying £xxxxx?0 -
Not sure if it's attitude but you seem to think you are too good to do a trial, this probably why they want to try you out to see if you can work in a team, instead of it being all about what you have to offer, even tho' you have a lot to offer.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

.
what i mean is; it's not like stacking shelves where beans go with beans and don't put the cat food in the freezer. You'll need to know their system and how it works in their office so you won't be able to just sit down and start working like you've been there 6 years.
What you can do will be limited till you know the job0
