  • well done on becoming debt free LULA_MONEYBAGGINS!

EC12345 dont worry, you will soon have big fat zeros at the end of your balance not instead of one!

I have bitten the bullet and listed 6 items on ebay as it is free listing weekend. It exasperates me uploading photos but I persevered and they are on now with 1 bid on 2 items! One was a dress I picked up yesterday for around 30p and put it on for £1 starting price so 300% profit already!!!

This time of year is the hardest I think as for those of us who are lucky enough to have a job it is a long time until payday. I'm keeping my head down and taking each day at a time.

  • I am in! Bit late, but better than never. We have just worked out what we need to save to get our self on the property ladder and it falls just under 12k, so what better than to get started on this. I am pretty new to the site, so is the anything I need t do to join up and is there a page with advice etc?

    Thanks
  • Moving over £1.05 that I saved by using trains instead of buses.:j

I am going to make one payment on the "lowest" day of the month before wages go in but it all helps towards it.

Just opened a cash ISA (I know, a bit late this year!) so I can divert little bits and bobs into that as well as the majority going into my mortgage offset account.
Sold a pair of shoes on Ebay for £56 (net of fees and postage costs) so that's gone in and tomorrow will be ringing Atlantic Energy for them to return my overpayment of £190. It does make me laugh when energy companies say they'll keep the overpayment towards the next bill when you pay by DD - no you won't I'll have it back thanks!!
Had an expensive month with a holiday to pay for and a couple of other things but should be on target for a grand saved.

Oh and have made the most of the half price gifts in the shops and bought birthday presents for the parties my little girl will be invited to over the coming year and put them away. Morrisons are also doing a 3 for 2 on greetings cards so 6 of those bought and put away in readiness. It's amazing how much it mounts up, she goes to at least half a dozen birthdays and at £6 or £7 each for a gift and present it gets expensive.

Just bought a birthday present from ebay saving £5 on the price I would have spent in the shops and made a untracked claim on Quidco for another £5.
