Couple of bits transferred to the savings today £2.44 from my Friday night rounding down of the current account and 87p save the change:)

Came home tonight to a £200 tax refund cheque which had ne dancing and pogo-ing around the kitchen. They have sent it out of the blue, I didn't submit a claim:j:j I haven't even thought about spending any of it, it is going straight in the pot.:D

Also have topped up my sealed pots with about £6 tonight to bring me up to date on the £/day and with the change I had in my purse.

Lucky you!! I got a letter today saying I owed them £138 which will be taken over the 12 months of next financial year. So I'm off to fiddle about with my personal expenditure to make sure I can get out of paying it! Stupid tax!

my sealed pot is getting more these days but it is all towards this challenge anyway :)

I was thinking what a thrifty day I've had...

    - woke up early so I could cook a curry in my thermal box (no energy costs) and as it was economy 7 time I charged up my kindle, laptop and mobile at cheap rate

-went shopping (with a list) got overcharged 8p in the veg shop so went back to reclaim (went in the pot when I got home)

    - picked up 2 dvds at the library that I ordered also Hugh FW veg cookery book so I'll bag a few recipes from it and wait till a copy appears in charity shop/ jumble sale

    - kids also bought some cheap make up on sale in boots, I was so proud as DD2 used a £5 off coupon too!

    - went to charity shop and found a silk dress on '3 for £1 rail' needed garment no. 3 as I had picked out 2 tops so have listed it on ebay (free listing this weekend)

    - nipped into sainsburys, bought bits on the list and used £5 in nectar points, put £5 into sealed pot when I got in.

    - got back to the car and everyone said they was hungry, swiftly produced a baguette (79p) I had bought in sainsburys and we all munched it on the way home

very productive day, minimal spend and kids picking up our good habits! win/win yay!

edit: forgot to say that I looked on HUKD this morning and saw earphones for 55p delivered so got 3 stes for xmas too!

Well, it seems we've all had quite a good start with this challenge.

So far this week I've transferred £72.90 to my savings account. Also sold quite a bit on ebay but won't add it till next month as need to wait for the paypal fees to come off first. Had a nice post new year cheque for £25 for a freelance job I do (very rarely unfortunately) so that was added straight to the saving pot.

Busy listing on ebay tonight and tomorrow as it's free listing w/end.

    Hello everyone,

It seems my move might be put on hold so I've gone ahead and transferred £95.35 into my ISA to bring my current total up to £400.

    Only another £5600 to go!!

Am hoping for another £100 to transfer before the end of the month. My promotion starts mid-month so half the month's salary will be at a higher rate and should have more disposable cash to put away! Also relisting my higher priced items on ebay tomorrow night :j
