Sigh, i was trying to transfer cash to my CA but the Santander website is playing up :(. Its maybe a sign, im transferring utilities companies and having to pay SP atm however EON took my DD out. I've told EON to keep the account in credit but then I got a SP bill lol. Oh well, at least my main supplier is in credit I suppose.
  • Just logged onto quidco and found they are going to send £24 this time (from swtching energy last summer)

Also found a good deal on car oil (on hukd) its asda 4lites for £10 so got 6 of these which should keep me in car oil for 3 years :)

  • I just made my first payment to savings account in 2012. £158, which is a random amount I know but it takes my savings from December's salary to £1000, although only the £158 counts for this challenge!

Payday is next week and I still have a few hundred pounds in my current account so will update a much better looking figure then!

OK, off to a good start its payday today so whacked in as much as I can straight into the savings. In the process of buying a house so some of it may come back out by the end of the month, the expenses seem to be racking up fast!
  • Saved #2:rotfl: on my shopping today (sorry my pound sign is currently on strike) so I'm transferring that to my savings too. It all adds up, eventually.
  • The month was starting slow for OH, but today it hasn't rained but it has poured! He has got 2 good jobs to kick the month off and a refurb laptop for sale as well as a current work in progress job with a balance owed! Looks like I will be able to save a good amount come the end of January :D Not 1/12 of what we aim for... but like I said... debts are comming off first and by half way through the year they will ALL be gone :D and phone contracts will be gone so in theory, we will have about £400 a month extra to save once our debts are gone.

Very excited for 2012, can't wait to see what total we have by the end of the year :D

Well done to all of you who have got savings already!

Went to the bank and put £6 in today.. the cashier looked at me like I was mad :o DH even had a little snigger when I told him, but like I said, if I do that extra every week it will soon add up over the year! He stopped laughing when I explained that small thing alone was £300+ by the end of the year. All helps :o

I've also talked him into letting me have his monthly £16 cash expenses (£4 a week, I've no idea what it's supposed to be for, but it's mine now anyway :D) and also he gets a cheque for commission once every quarter and I've talked him into a couple of those too over the year. (The first two we need for decorating as our bedroom is desperate)

I've added all these things to my little colour coded spreadsheet :j

    Sweet

ps current balance £9.42 lol, but haven't been paid yet since mid-Dec.

Came home tonight to a £200 tax refund cheque which had ne dancing and pogo-ing around the kitchen. They have sent it out of the blue, I didn't submit a claim:j:j I haven't even thought about spending any of it, it is going straight in the pot.:D

Also have topped up my sealed pots with about £6 tonight to bring me up to date on the £/day and with the change I had in my purse.
