    Dear Kasotheory

I think you need to move!! You could have paid for my house in 4 years at that cost. Think of the savings you could make by halving that amount?

Im going to bookmark this page and I wish you all the best of luck.

My fiance and I are getting married in July and have been saving £800 a month since June 2011. We are fortunate enough to have parents who are contributing generously to our wedding so it means our projected savings, post july wedding, should be at the £10,200 mark by xmas eve 2012. A nice nest egg.

We originally projected more but tweaked the target accordingly. So Im hoping we can possibly exceed that figure if we have a quiet year!

So, wish me luck, £10,000 by xmas eve.

    Can I join please? :D

Even though £12k is way outside my saving possibilities??? :o

My target is £3000.....which would be a HUGE achievement if I could get anywhere near that!! :T

    ILoveSaving,

That makes perfect sense financially, however, consider this.

    1. I need a 3 bedroom house.
    2. How far away from london I would need to be to see prices like that.
    3. How many hours I would have to spend travelling to/from work and not spending that time with my family.

In my case I have enough disposable income (even after my atrocious rent) , my issue is changing bad habits of spending it all rather than cutting back.

    Thanks for your reply..

Does anyone else think that the big retailers should wait until the end of January before announcing their final Christmas sales figures as surely quite a lot of stuff is returned by people like me... :D

Got 4.52 so far! Got a few things on Ebay but I think this month will be quiet till I get paid. Been offered some agency work which will help things.
    Good luck all :-) x
