  • 2011 has been a horrible yr for me financially I lost 11k in shares. So my main aim is to recover this loss back at sq 1 and start saving again.

Please can I join the list, aiming for £11,000. It's so cool so many ppl have joined and I really like this idea. I hope every1 reaches their goals by hook or crook, and gudluck to every1!

For me never seeing the money works best, so I'll squirrel away money on pay day to various locations like regular savers, ISAs etc. Honestly, I live on 10% of my money for 90% of my month :rotfl:

This will be the bulk of it - the balance I will get by joining each monthly £10 per day challenge to squeeze the last few pounds out of my daily living expenses. ;)

Crikey that's a huge amount to lose! :( Was most of your money in a single share or was this just portfolio loss with the drop in the market?
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Mr Gap gives me "dig money" each week which will be going in the savings. Apart from my mortgage I will be starting 2012 debt free so my regular monthly loan payments will be going to the savings. I save a certain amount each month from my salary, this will be going towards it. Anything extra I collect along the way will go in too.

    Gap :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

I aim to create the 12k money as I've already allocated our income for the yr 2012. So it's printing money, money laundering and if that doesn't work it will be decluttering and selling on ebay

Not really tried this money laundering, does all the ink run in the wash?

I have seperate accounts for my monthly expenses, so I put my all of my pay into my savings account then transfer x amount from the savings account back into my spending accounts - that way I never see my salary, so I'm not tempted to spend it all. I'll also try and reduce my spending, no drinks when I stop for fuel/lunch when out shopping when I could eat at home etc. That'll get me £525ish.

Going to increase my income by mystery shopping (£150) and getting a second job (£200). Then eBay/Amazon/car boot everything I own for the last £125.
