    Ooooh I like it Desperate H :D

Think I will go and amend my spreadsheet for the rounding up ready for January.

I have been saving Mr M's stamps over the year. They give you £1 when you save £49 and £3 when you save £97! I spend loads in there anyway, especially at Christmas so aimed for the £97 and will be at the target on Wednesday :T

Congrats on the £30 from JL :)

    Gap
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

I wish I could bulk buy, it'd make things so much cheaper! We have a shelf in the fridge and one cupboard for kitchen storage at the moment and have no space in our room :( Need to find a bigger room for the next houseshare so I can bulk buy [grin]

Should be working 70 - 85 hour weeks, done it before and i absolute love it!!

If you were two years older I'd think you were an old house/work mate of mine. He managed to save well over £20,000 last year doing exactly what you plan to on min. wage!

  • I'm due a refund for various bits I bought for work. Would I be cheating to ask them not to refund me until January (so I can put it into my 3K account)? it's about £30 plus £40 travel expenses. So it would help me with my 3K efforts!!

Currently doing battle with myself to work out whether I can/want to scrimp more next year (while I can) to increase on my £3K target. Think I'll just take each month at a time for now - too many variables to consider to be able to make a once-and-for-all decision at the moment.
  • PS: meant to add: Am so enjoying this challenege already! I like reading people's comments here and it's exciting to have a figure to aim towards, compared to the VSP where it's a case of save what you can (not that I don't enjoy doing that as well!). I feel like I'm obsessed with money at the moment!
