Can I join in too please?
I'd like to aim for the full £12,000 (fingers and toes firmly crossed!)
Thanks0 -
I am buying a house....not everyone would take gold as a deposit smart !!!!.
Not to mention that house prices (certainly where I am) are in a state of deflation at present..
Everyone say hi to Asheron, one of the Savings board's resident gold [STRIKE]bores[/STRIKE] bugs.... :wave:I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -

Would it be cheating to delay my December payday savings until January.....? :whistle:I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
Wobble: I say 'no' but others here would say it is.
I've got interest and cashback payments that I'm not transferring across until 1st Jan!
I think it's what fraudsters call 'being creative'.
And yes, I AM taking this challenge very seriously, before anyone thinks I'm dissing it.0 -

Hi all
Absolutely loving the thread, especially the challenge! Quick question, I would be looking to save the 12k in 12, but I also purchase business shares (we get a good deal where I work) - can these be included in my savings amount?
Great work all, roll on January 2012!!Keep it simple, don't borrow beyond your means and always think long-term!
And just remember - tomorrow is a brand new day and the sun will still rise regardless of how bad things are0 -
I don't see why not... But let's see what OP says!
(lucky you!)0 -

Ha ha, well with the current economic situation not so lucky! Although, buying cheap with the optimism of them increasing could be good in the medium/long-term!Keep it simple, don't borrow beyond your means and always think long-term!

I am going for a mix of regular saver(s), cash ISA, S&S ISA (so will be buying shares too) and possibly even some gold.I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
I would say so ..... in fact I was thinking of doing a post with suggestions of where to save the £12k.

Gold seems to be a safe bet right now (although is anything safe!)! It could well be peaking which means there is only one way down! Anyone seen Limitless? If only!!!:rotfl:Keep it simple, don't borrow beyond your means and always think long-term!
