    Hi all,

Long time reader but 1st time poster. This sounds like something I should get my teeth stuck into.

Going to aim for the £12k by the end of the year!

    Good luck all
  • I honestly can't wait to start this challenge, 6 weeks feels like ages! :p

RedfordML I would definitely count the bonus in your total, like catslovelycats says I would be relying on things like this to help me make target!

    RULES:

    - This challenge starts on 1st January 2012 00:00 and finishes on 31st December 2012 23:59.
    - Everything saved MUST be done between these two dates.
    - Any interest gained during this challenge on your savings can be counted!

So Redford this says to me that you can count the £5k since you are getting it in January :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Has there been a decision made yet on when people are going to update with their totals?

I think slowlyfading said the last day of each month. :)

I would have to update mine on the last day of the month.
I cream off the balance of my current account on the last day of the money ... I think people call it "virtual change"... I'm not sure!

I also have various standing orders and direct debits coming out at all different times of the month, so the last day seems to be the best option for me to be honest!

But I suppose you could update at any time, so long as we all reach our targets by 31st December 2012 at 23.59 lol

Good luck everyone - I am itching to start this challenge!

I will be doing my updates on the 7th of each month, this is a week after i get paid and all my s/o and dd come out. Bring it on. Should start it off with some overtime in the new year so hopefully a good start!

  • Last day of month works well for me 'cos I intend to keep 'finding' extra money to transfer across to my 3K account throughout the month.

Goodness, I'm giving more thought to 2012 challenges than I am to Christmas preparations!

Sounds good to me too, I certainly would be looking at saving some of my bonus to help with the challege too, though I doubt it will be that much. :D

Yes please! Last day of each month, preferably LARGE, BOLD and COLOUR and with your challenge number too :D
