Looking forward to this challenge!
I've just stocked up on my toiletries for the year - I have a boots staff discount card and they had a double discount day recently including 3 for 2. So that's me sorted!
I'll have to think about stocking up on some food items too.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

I will sign up for this also, with a wedding to pay for next year but if we can aim to save £1,000 between myself and Mrs MM then its a good target to go for. Whatever we dont spend on the wedding will be going straight into the pot for the new house!
I will be up front with any financial 'gifts' we receive along the way!Millionaire in Training

I would love to be able to save £12,000 but I dont even earn anywhere near that so theres no hope of me achieving that, but to be more realistic for me could you put me down for £2400, I know thats only £200 a month, but to acheive that I will have to work really hard, as Im only left with about £20 and Im still trying to pay my debts off!!!!£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0

I have been stocking up ready for this challenge!
They had Daz on special offer at Lidl today for £3.99 (it was £9.73 in Sainsburys!) for a 42 wash box so I got 2 then went back for another 2...
I have replenished the store cupboard as it was running low, I find it is a good time to stock up this time of year as everything seems very expensive in january and no money around either.
I'm shattered though, went to Lidl, Wilkos, Sainsburys as well as other jobs to do around the shops but well worthwhile
I've got a few bits in ready for xmas too, xmas cake, oud, tins of chestnut puree for the stuffing (special offer in sainsburys, usually £1.99 got for 50p)Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
Save £12k in 2013 no.34 £11,800/£12,000

Gosh, It will be incredibably hard to save 12k next year. I have worked out my budget for 12mnths starting this Oct and aim to spend just 10k on running the house, thats food, insurance, council tax, electric, oil, telephone, repairs, presents etc. There are just the two of us, both retired but with hobbies that bring in some extra income. So, to save will mean increasing the amount of work I do, but if that what it takes I'll give it a go. NSD's, Old style thrift, making do and watching the pennies will be high on the list from now on.
On the positive side, I can grow my own as I have a very large veg plot all down to raised beds, at the moment unused, plus a large fruit cage, again unused. My husband is a good shot, and I don't mind dealing with game. Ebay looks good, I have never sold anything on it, so we have a lifetime's accumulation of goodies that could be converted into cash. The freezers are almost full, the woodstore is overfull and I've a woodburner with oven and hotplates so at least I can save on cleaning the electric oven LOL - a job I hate.
The more I think about it the more doable it seems to be so put me down for 12k and I'll see how it goes. I actually feel quite enthusiastic about this challenge.0 -

Can i join please?
Put me down for the whole hog please, we're going to save for a deposit for a house. That will nearly cover it!
To be honest though i think i'll manage 8 or 9k but i'll give it a good go!
I found a house i desperately like but it'll probably be sold before we save enough money
good luck everyone
Slowly fading, ive been missed can I be added to the list please?0
