    Hi All,

Can you add me to the list please? I'm going to try for the full £12,000.

I currently owe just over £10,000 so I'm aiming to pay that back and start 2013 with some savings.

    Thanks!

Can you add me to please for the £12000.

Is it too early to say good luck to everyone.
  • I am a single Mum who has just gone full time at work. I have a daughter at uni and a son hopefully going next year.
I have always struggled to keep my head above water.
I need to organise myself and grow some savings so put me down for £4000.:D

In making preparations for this I have made a payment against existing debt of £4300 of £2300. Hope to clear this debt by end of Jan to have a clear run at my target & preferably exceeding it (I may even set myself a personal stretch goal to encourage me to keep going!

  • welcome to everyone, I too have been preparing for this challenge like an athlete limbering up for the olympics!
I have been stocking up on long dated foodstuffs like tins and stuff for the freezer. I am ok for dog food for all next year I think and have lots of shampoo which I got cheap on offer at the co-op (6 bottles for £4 with voucher)
It might be worth having a look at what people need to pay for in the early part of the year so the money can be put aside leaving the road clear for saving. I intend to buy crackers and wrapping paper in the sales (I have stuff for this xmas bought in January)
Also DD1 18th at the end of Jan so have got her pressie already... can't think of anything else...
    Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
    Save £12k in 2013 no.34 £11,800/£12,000
'How much can you save' thread = £7,050
    Total=£29,100
    Mfi3 no. 88: Balance Jan '06 = £63,000.
    Balance 23.11.09 = £nil. :)

Sorry, American term from work, basically we have a goal an then a stretch goal, e.g. Make 50% profit then the stretch might be 75%... Encourages you to aim above your target, while not making it seem un-achievable (I.e all targets should be SMART - specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time based).
