I have been stocking up on long dated foodstuffs like tins and stuff for the freezer. I am ok for dog food for all next year I think and have lots of shampoo which I got cheap on offer at the co-op (6 bottles for £4 with voucher)
That is a good idea I may keep an eye out for washing powder and stuff on offer that will keep and try and stock up, I don't have a lot of storage space but I'm sure I can think of something.

I thought more would be on lower wages like I am. Makes me nervous now! I'm 22 and earn a decent wage but don't work enough hours to earn a lot! By March next year I should be on around £1000 net a month, I'm hoping to get a third job now so that I can be earning that now and more when my second job goes to it's full hours next March
Hoping to earn £1300 net a month by March, that would be great
It'll cover rent if I continue to houseshare on the cheap, food and so on
I'm also saving for a deposit on a house! I've saved over the past few years but the money I saved has mostly disappeared now due to moving into a non-seasonal job and having to find somewhere to live, find a job (well, two) and training courses for my work! The last of my savings will disappear at the end of December when I have to renew my car insurance
So I'll be starting 2012 afresh!Saving for a deposit: £5,400/£20,000

slowyfading: I think the thing that worries me is that I already do a lot of things to save money because I'm not on a lot of money at the moment due to not having my full hours yet (though admittedly have been eating out a bit recently!) so it's trying to skim even more off of that!
Saying that, I could easily skim off the cost of my shampoo and conditioner from lush (£20 a month  ) but I like it too much :rotfl: It smells yummySaving for a deposit: £5,400/£20,000

Nik - I love a good shampoo and conditioner too
I don't know how I'm going to do it really, unless I find another job soon! But, I'll try my hardest anyway

I'd like to have a go at this please but I think 12k is unrealistic for me. We are trying to over pay on the mortgage. Can you add me to your list with a personal target of £4000?
Now i've got to work out how to add this to a signature.....0 -
Oh, Mark it's easy
Just click the quick links and it's on "edit signature" on there

Hi,
I've already signed up for the 12K but I've just had a LBM. As well as actually saving 12K whch will be mainly ebay. I'm going to keep a tally of how much I save due to BOGOF, reduced items and any other method I can think of not to pay full price. The reason I say this is that I've just been to Sainsbury's and bought some reduced items, mainly bakery - they will freeze. I've saved £4.66, not to mention a 49p voucher from shopping there last time. Small beginnings but I think £1000 is achievable.0
