Is there any way you could get a bigger freezer? Maybe off freecycle? It would certainly save money when you come across food bargains and help with budgetting.

There's not much room unfortunately although I think I could possibly cut out part of the worktop and I could get one of these big ones. Wouldn't bother me having less workspace.

Something to think about when I get some spare time I suppose!

Could I also be included in this at the slightly less ambitious (but slightly more realistic) sum of £6000 for 2012? It unfortunately doesn't have the same ring to it as 12 in 12, however, I will have to deal with this for now and try to use it as motivation to up the targetat a later date.

Just need to break the news to the family. :(

just wanted to say to everyone on the challenge to stock up things you might need for the next few months so you can save the money into your fund! I am going shopping on saturday to get stocked up on shampoo and conditioner and toiletries which are running low.

I dropped on 3 chicken for a fiver in the co-op today so got 3 of those for the freezer. Also xmas is under control, I have a ham in the freezer when Lidl was selling them cheap so just got to get a turkey crown and have crackers from last year, dont need much really.

    Looking forward to this challenge!

Oh my god that's proper brilliant idea Desperate, I think I'm going to do that too! I've got some tesco vouchers to use so will use them for the stocking up :D

Have you got a spare bedroom? maybe a corner in the house somewhere you could throw a tablecloth over it and put a plant on it! I put tins under the bed if I run out of room...lateral thinking!

Lol, I've got massive amounts of tea and coffee from when Mr T was selling them for 5p off fuel, along with bulk buys of laundry detergent, cereal bars and squash etc. all shoved under my bed :D
