Mortified

Just had a tour of a school for my LO and the sour faced librarian said "Oh I see you're working on another one" meaning I've noticed you're pregnant.
FGS my Lo is only 11 months old and I'm carrying a bit more to cuddle than usual but pregnant? Agh, I'm fat not pregnant.
Now feel horrifyingly upset with myself and I'm obviously massive, I'm not wearing this top again. Wouldn't mind but she was no skinny minnie herself!

Don't take it to heart...she wasn't being malicious. I would be mortified too though. Perhaps it could be a kickstart for you to lose the extra baby weight. I hope you told her "I'm not pregnant actually" just so that next time she'll think twice before saying anything.0

What a cheeky cow!! I'd have said something like 'yeah and I can see you are doing the eating for 2 for me!'
I'd have a word with the head - comments like that should not be made by members of staff0 -
I was so shocked I just mumbled "er no I'm not actually" and shuffled out, she didn't even have the grace to look embarrassed.
Thing is although I'm carrying extra weight I have always been big-ish and despite walking miles each day with the buggy and going to 2 hours of zumba classes each week I'm still cuddly, but sooo much fitter and I think I'd rather be fitter and cuddly than just cuddly.
I figure after years of diets and other things that I'm just meant to be this way, if I can just not get any bigger but maintain an dimporve my fitness then I think I'm happy with myself.
This top is so going in the bin!:staradmin0 -
This happened to me at a concert 10mths after giving birth but as she was saying i could use the disabled loo instead of waiting i wasn't too bothered ha ha.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

it got said to me and my youngest was about 14!!!
A British Gas employee wouldn't allow me to help him carry a cylinder 'in your condition'. I pointed out I was just fat and had no condition and he was so sorry it was funny to see.
You aren't alone, lots of people come up against idiots - she was just yours today.0 -
Don't worry about it...
According to some people, I was pregnant for about 18 months. The worst comment being "not long now then" as I was pushing DD in her pram at about 3 months old :eek:0 -
I have had that soooo many times, not always with the excuse that I have quite recently had a baby! The thing is I am actually quite slim, but I think it's how you carry any extra weight you have, With me, I am a definite apple shape, everything goes onto the tummy first and I am also quite big chested which might not help. My hips and face are very slender though so I can see how the mistake gets made!
I wouldn't take it too much to heart OP or assume it is a sign that you are vastly overweight. I am a size 10, 5'6" and have a BMI of about 22 and go through phases where this happens to me once or twice a week! If on public transport, I tend to smile gratefully and take the seat btw0 -
I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and whenever somebody asks me "how long left" or "is it a boy or a girl" I play dumb. Cruel, I know, but it's hilarious.0
