Just think if google and Picasa crashed what would you do then?
Why not have them on a Hard drive or on a memory card? then you could just transfer them to your nice shiney new Windows 7.5 Nokia with no hassle:)

They are on my home server, but uploaded a few albums so they can
be easily accessed via phone. So if i get the S2 for example
I just login with my google account and contacts and pictures are available instantly!

I actually wouldn't want to run android apps on a windows
phone but would like an easy way of migrating data

Are you sure? You can switch all those off under settings/notifications then select each application. You should then see 'Alert Style' and switch them all to either None or Banner (my preference). When I get an email/notification it just briefly appears at the top of the screen (or on the lock screen) and that's it...

There is no option to disable system generated pop ups, only pop ups generated by apps

I've used a WP7 phone for the last year, and have to say that I've not found anything to beat it..yet...!
Tried the iPhone - didn't get along with it - I have an iPod and iPad - but just can't get along with the phone.
Android - a great OS, but just a little bit to fragmented for me.
WP7 - especially since the recent upgrade, just seems a little bit more cohesive. Everything that you want is just there.

Try to go to a store where you can have a play with each one, to help make your decision a bit easier - however for me, although Android is great, WP7 just has the edge.

Interesting, a few posters are singing the praises for the more recent WP phones, I know the Symbian Belle looks sweet as well, as long as the main flow of apps are around for the OS, then they may become the top seller

on the windows market place there is an app that allows android apps to run in the WP enviroment .
You go on about me, look at your post all are about how android is the best and all other os are no good.
Even when someone talk about windowsbphone you bring in android.

All phones are good depending on what one need. iPhone and windows phone are easy to use, same front, one apps store, all software are pre checked for virus. Android is open source so if you like low level changes to your phone, many apps accounts, install many type of fronts and changes then android is good for you. No such a thing as android is the only best phone

I agree, I do recall it was I that said that

As mentioned unless someone is a candidate for the early learning centre, then no handset is difficult to use, not sure where you get this many app store, I only ever go to android market for android apps, can you point us to a report that an off the shelf handset has been affected by virus? Just because something does not feature on an Apple device does not mean a consumer does not want it, eg FM radio (not everybody wants to use their data allowance or is near a wifi connection) widgets (perhaps it maybe on iOS6), only recently the camera included a flashlight, my apple device is giving me less functionality than my SE Satio and HTC Wildfire and that is without including the communication side of things.
