Patty, this is what HE said he was going to do, the OP is going to see a solicitor on Monday. I think she would be foolish to walk out of that house now as she gives him everything he wants.

If HE defaults on the mortgage and she gets evicted then she will be entitled to a Housing Association or Council House (depending on the area) because it is not her fault she is being made homeless - this will be a home she gets for life, not for 6 months here, 6 months there, they can all settle together. Eviction takes a good 4-5 months, it does not happen overnight anyway if he defaults so do not scare her. She will be informed of the eviction and can apply to the court to stay longer anyway. If she leaves then she will not be entitled to housing as she would have made her self intentionally homeless. She needs to stay put for now as it will bring the best benefit for her and her children long term.

I didn't say she should walk out now. I said in my earlier post she should discuss it with her solicitor. And i did put quite clearly that she should take legal advice before doing anything.

Council housing is fine if its available. Round here you're dumped in B & B....yes, with kids.

I've known mortgage companies start proceedings after 3 months. I'm not scaring the OP. What i am doing is encouraging her to consider ALL her options carefully WITH proper legal advice.

I'd prefer to do that than post from the *hang em & flog em & chop their B***s corner* :D

He has agreed to get something in writing (legal) stating that he is paying mortgage, if I do go via csa I have to leave here as he can't afford both. He works for a company.

Tough luck if he can't afford it he should have thought about that. Hit him where it hurts and get everything you are entitled to from him!

I owe about £4000 but this has been spent on the family and I have a couple of quid in savings.
I don't think he's got any savings, then again he doesn't know about the money I've been stashing over the past two years incase this happened.

I smell BS...the story has now changed. I agree with Kay Peel..

Why, because she has been stashing money? It is possible to owe 4k on loans/credit cards AND have money in savings you know.
  • Where does she say she has "loads" stashed away?Different people will have different ideas on what a "few quid" is you know...

It does make a very compelling story!
  • I'd class £100+ as a few quid stash.

Are people suggesting this is all a hoax?
